My husband and I love this place! And it's our go-to if we're working late and want something quick - I can order on the phone when exiting off the pike and when I get there 10 minutes later it's just being packed up and ready to go. The wontons are awesome (we usually get them steamed - yummy!), and my husband is obsessed with Beef with Stir Fried Rice Noodles. We've ordered many different things from the soups, noodle & rice dishes and haven't had a bad meal yet. I took my dad here the first time he visited us and every time he comes now he always asks to go back :) If you're looking for a nice sit-down place for a quiet meal this isn't the place - as the staff review mentioned it's more of a cafeteria style place, which is fine if you're not looking for a nice night out. Being from NY we've eaten at a lot of asian/noodle places and this beats of them. They really can say they are No. 1!
Pros: Excellent food, lots of it for very little, and friendly staff
Cons: None

Possibly the most food for the least money you will get in Newton. Forget about the rather ordinary fried appetizers and get some noodle soup. You can't go wrong for about six bucks ordering some version of wonton noodle soup -- the wontons are unbelievably delicious, light and fresh and loaded with shrimp and pork. Add some barbecued pork or roast duck and you are in heaven -- one order really can feed 3 normal people or 2 really hungry people. Great option for take out and did I mention it's affordable?
Pros: Lots of delicious food for small dollars
Cons: Not much to look at (but so what?)

Definitely worth my bucks - nothing over 8 bucks and portion is big. I was pleasantly surprised to see some authentic dishes on their menu, which usually can only be found in restaurants in Chinatown. Try their Laksa - much better and easier on the palette than what you find at Penang. Shrimp cutlet and veggie springrolls are great appetizers yet dipping sauce lack spices - resembles duck sauce.
A fast food place that fits my budget but offer bring-to-your-table service without the service charge. Thumbs up.
Pros: wide selections, big portions
Cons: small tables, crowded lunch time

Number 1 Noodle House is a nice place to eat there or take out. Service is incredibly fast for take out, even when it's busy (like a Saturday night!) 10-15 minutes. On a week night, it took like 10 minutes! HUGE portions. Good Chinese food here I'd say. The fried rice, fried noodles, or chow foon type orders are huge. They stuff that take out box with a lot of noodles and veggies and meat! It tastes good too. Very affordable too and good service.
PROS: fast fresh food, nice people working there, affordable.
