This place looked liked fun from the outside and it was, the music varied but it was mostly hard rock, alcohol selection was big, i especially like the option of the big mug of beer. We odered burger, they tasted good but it was dumb that we had to add everything else on there for a fee, like to add cheese $0.75, fries $2, and so on, the burger by its self was already $9 so it came out to an expensive burger. The staff was alittle rude especially our waitress so ignored us for most of the time and went outside to throw around a football while we waited inside to be served, it also took her 20 minutes to get me just one beer. The location of the bar is really nice, you can see the beach, well so of it because ther is a parking lot between you and the beach.
Pros: Food, ambiance, and beer
Cons: staff and price

I can't believe there are no mentions of Sunday Funday or the breakfast menu?! Maybe locals will hunt me down and do bad things for exposing this gem but screw it, I'm here for the uninformed! I dare you to find a better breakfast menu in a bar on planet earth. More selection than any place (outside your kitchen with a never-ending pantry) I've ever been. Just image every breakfast fare you've ever had and cram it onto 3 pages of Mutt's menu. Special variations are welcome, assuming your little creation isn't already on their list!
As for Sunday funday? Some say Sunday is the Lord's day and if Jesus did turn water into wine, he must be a drinker and therefore Sunday Funday truly is the Lord's day! Show up early unless your nipples tickle over waiting in lines in your spare time. The laddies pound giant goblet (schooners) of mimosas and personally, morning drinking is best done with very spicy bloody mary. Be warned, however, the bloody mary is Mutt's exception to their sans hard-A bar supply. Beers a plenty, pool tables, and a beach for drunken football across the street make Mutt's THE place for Sunday morning liver wars.
Pros: Breakfast, schooners, beach
Cons: Long lines and overcrowding during NFL games and most FRI, SAT nights

Gotta try their Fun Buns and other breakfast offerings. It's great to ride a bike to Newport Beach from our home and have a big breakfast at Mutt's. Not healthy but not every meal has to be!

We ride our bikes (in the summertime) to Mutt Lynch's and by the time we get there a beer and burger are in the works. They have the best food and lots of variety to choose from. The beer is cold and the place can get packed on a weekend. It's really elbow to elbow. Be sure to bring your id as they check it at the door later in the day. Atmosphere is fun and be ready for it to get loud and crazy. It's right on the sand so come on down.

This is in response to cuz_22's review:
Each culture, of course, has a different idea as to what rates as an accomplishment. Muslims, for example, put a tremendous amount of stock into making a pilgrimage to Mecca, while generations of Frenchmen have taken great pride in not falling over their discarded rifles while fleeing the Germans.
The subculture of avid drinkers, living as we do by our own set of rules and priorities, has an entirely different idea altogether, to the degree that our notion of a goal worth achieving may well appear bad behavior or even a criminal offense to the parent culture.
You will never comprehend just how pleasurable the workaday grind can be until you bring your old chum alcohol along. You don?t have to get boss-punching drunk, just sneak enough to loosen up that tight harness. You see, cuz_22, you?ll never fully understand the drinking culture as a whole until you?ve spent some time on the supply side of the bar. The empathy it will lever into your psyche will change your bar behavior forever.
P.S. I love Mutt Lynch's
Pros: Great food, drinks and staff
Cons: There is nothing wrong with this bar

might be good food....if your waitress isn't too drunk to deliver it to you.
Seriously...we are pretty easy going people and we walked in at 9:00 pm on a sat. night in Feb. It was not crowded. We (two of us) ordered a pizza and a few beers. We did then move tables (from under a speaker), I walked to our waitress and told her (twice) that we had moved, she even came to our new table and closed her tab with us. At 9:30ish we walked to find her and asked her again about our pie...."oh sorry I delivered it to the wrong table, it'll be another twenty minutes"....a half hour later...I walked to find her again....she had no idea about our pizza. To their credit, the manager did give us our money back for the pizza...but our drunk waitress still had no idea....zero. One hour we were there...it was a decent enough environment for a bar, but waitresses more drunk than customers is not a winning formula. So after this we walked down the street and had a piece of pizza at Perry's pizza by the slice....and it was beautiful....without the drunken staff
Pros: beer...which you can get anywhere
Cons: poor service....which you can gat anywhere
