It's a special treat to be able to get ice cream from Gelato Paradiso. I think I stumbled on this place through my husband (who works in the area) and every time I'm in the area I make it a point to stop by and pamper myself with their delicate, flavorful dessert. You can mix & match flavors (3-4 in a cup) and they allow you to sample flavors in order to help you choose between selection of ice creams and sorbets. A small cup always satisfies my palette perfectly, but maybe that's because I'm worried about having "too much of a good thing". Make this place a part of your night out!
As a note, this location offers extremely limited seating. Most customers linger outdoors when the weather's nice (that's why we love Southern California!).

Every summer we make the drive from Anaheim to Newport Beach several times a week just to get gelato and sorbetto at Gelato Paradiso. It's so hard to find a place that serves good gelato and this shop seems to have found a great recipe. They provide Gelato to many of the finer restaurants in Orange County too. They also have beautiful "bakery" items such as gelato cakes, etc. What a treat that would be for a birthday cake! The gelato is available in over 20 flavors and is hand scooped into cones or cute little plastic cups with tiny spoons. Most people pick 2-3 flavors and have them all put into their cup so that they can enjoy more than one flavor. If you're in the area, or even if you're not, take a trip to Gelato Paradiso in the Corona Del Mar center for a real treat.

Gelato Paradiso serves some good Italian ice cream that is known as Gelato. It is different than regular ice cream, it is more soft and creamier and I think it tastes very different. You'll know what I mean if you've ever tried it. This is a clean place to go and check out if you've never tried Gelato. I highly recommend it.

Before I discovered Gelato Paradiso, I had no idea what gelato was. Of course, now I know it is the Italian version of ice cream -- and we all know Italians are amazing chefs! The ice cream at Gelato Paradiso proves this point -- it was the creamiest, smoothest and tastiest ice cream I have ever had! I doubt I can ever go back to regular ice cream, this stuff is just amazing!

Having visited Italy, I have extremely high standards when it comes to the taste of gelato. I have to admit, the gelato isn't that bad (well, it's hard to really screw up gelato) but it wasn't that good either. The location makes this place very expensive. For those on a budget, I would not suggest eating here.
The store isn't very big so the crowd can fill up REAL quick.

Gelato Paradiso is a fun place to take a break from a day of pricy shopping at the nearby Fashion Island. The store itself is located in the Corona Del Mar Plaza.
The gelato spread is pretty fancy--fruits and other decorative pieces garnish the display and they have fancy gelato cakes that you can special order. With upwards of 20 flavors, and number shakes and other gelato creations available for your consumption, you're sure to find something to please everyone.
But, like the ritzy stores that surround it, Gelato Paradiso is pricy. And if the gelato was THAT good, I'd look past the inflated price tag--but I've had better gelato elsewhere. Gelato Paradiso is good, very good, but failed to impress me as much as I thought it would. Also, the intimate setting of the store also means that it can get crowded quickly if a bunch of people decide to come in at once, which I've seen happen on more than one occasion.
