Great place! 4/10/2010

Chuck is one of the good ones, the kind that works on these bikes because he loves them, and he knows them inside and out. I have a vintage Triumph and he has sat patiently with me and explained processes and repair procedures to me, answered all my questions, and found me great prices on hard to find parts. Service is second to none. Don't let the one bad review scare you... I'd trust Chuck. more

REALLY PEOPLE 9/25/2008

You should all be thank full that you are not judged in your day to day life and jobs. Motorcycles are not cheap especially old ones. I have spent a lot I know. People do not restore or work on old bikes to rip people off. Those mechanics work on expensive cars for rich people who don't care. If your bike is old and messed up it will cost a lot of money. But if you really get what it's like to ride an old bike you'll not care and know that it's worth it. It's not the mechanics fault. DONT HATE! more

COMPLETE RIP OFF! 10/6/2006

hese crooks are the epitome of mechanics! I was warned not to bring my bike to Chuckhouse, but being that they are the only mechanics that repair Italian bikes, I was left with no other choice. I felt out the mechanics. They were very nice. And convinced me that the parts + service would equall a certain ammount. Throughout the course of the service I remained in contact with the mechanic. At this point, he knows where I work and how much money I make and that I am in a financial bind just as well as every other New Orleanian. He told me that he ran into a few complications, but reassured me that it was not going to cost me "much more". After the work was done and I came in to pick up my bike, I asked the mechanic how much is was. the mechanic wouldn't even look me in the eye and directed me to take the financial issues up with the owner. THE FINAL BILL WAS 60% MORE THAN I WAS QUOTED! Beware, the owner is a smooth talker. He will make you feel guilty by pointing out that he has rent and insurance to pay and that you are trying to free load off his generosity- which is that- he did you a favor by repairing your bike when there is no one else in the city that can work on foreign bikes. The mechanics bend the truth to the end of the world. The owner's job is then to educate you in shop policy. You question the mechanics quote but he will not take responsibility for the half-lies the mechanics told you. Instead, he will reinforce the policy that he just explained to you, challenging you with questions that are after the fact, like: "Didn't you stop and think that it would take this long?" I am an idiot for not listening to those who have already been burned by Chuck House. You are an idiot if you go there after reading this. more
