This is a great SMALL space to see awesome bands. Although I will agree with the other poster about Cafe Nine that the ginormous post in front of the stage has to go, this is a great place to see lots of genres. They have blues jams, rockabilly, punk, etc, usually a low admission price, and cheap drinks. Cafe Nine usually fills up late, so if you get there before 10 you can grab a table. It is a really small space though, so if you don't like being crowded this aint the place for you.

Also known as The Musicians' Living Room, Cafe 9 only gets three stars, because it's cramped most of the time, and there's a big post four feet in front of center stage. This equals no dance floor. But if you're a music freak - someone who just can't get enough local music, no matter what brand or style that music is - then get over to Cafe 9, any night of the week. The drinks are cheap too.
