Formerly the Cape Codder, Delaney's was transformed into a restaurant and bar. Downstairs has a bar and restaurant/bar area, upstairs is the restaurant.
Impressively the Cape Codder is the number of beers and loggers they have on tap. A well traveled Englishman saw loggers he had not elsewhere in the States. 50 total beers the last I counted. They also at times, let you have a sample or two to test out if its the beer for you.
Few places are open in the area after 10 p.m., so if you are looking for a drink or snack or dessert after a movie or event at one of the local colleges, Delaney's is a great idea. They actually have a great take on classics like a Ham & cheese sandwich. It doesnt state it on the menu, but they use a gourmet meat quality ham, a quality cheese I did not recognize but had a herb in it, and used a thick, homemade bread, not your standard white bread sandwich.
Despite its proxmity to SCSU, it is not just a college crowd.

This is the bar I've been dreaming of, and if you like:
* all the favorite bar activities- darts, pool table, Buck Hunter for those of you whole like to pretend to shoot things while drinking indoors.
* an exhastive beer list - beers you've never heard of from places you've never been. Delicious selection, comfortably priced.
* peanuts, and shells on the floor.
* a bar for all seasons: outdoor seating, white table cloth dining, wonderful taproom.
...than you have too.
