The Yale Center for British Art houses the largest and most comprehensive collection of British art outside the U K. The collection of paintings‚ sculpture‚ drawings‚ prints‚ rare books‚ and manuscripts reflects the development of British art‚ life‚ and thought from the Elizabethan period onward. I expected to get bored with stuffy paintings I did not recognize, but that was not the case. This museum offers a mix of formal art and evocative modern works. The Yale Center offers exhibitions and educational programs‚ including films‚ concerts‚ lectures‚ tours‚ and special events. It is Handicap accessible with a ramp and elevators. There is also a very nice gift shop with items of interest to both kids and adults. There is also a collection of nice art supplies.

Not only is the art fantastic here, but the space they are presented in is equally breathtaking. It is obvious that a lot of planning went into this art space. I think everyone should go even if they think British art isn't there thing. Where else can you see such fine pieces with FREE admission.
