BAR is by far my favorite place to go! there are 3 rooms so if you wanna eat one section, play pool, watch the game and chill another room, or dance the night away....another room! Thursdays is college night! Fridays are good too! and saturdays are even more fun! they have the bessssssssssst pizza in the world! think about it: where else can you get drunk and dance, then have pizza with out even leaving!? Pros: music, crowd, PIZZA!!! Cons: none!

my first time at BAR was a thursday night. not many people besides the drunk waitress (more on that in a lil bit) I was refered to BAR from a friend who recommened the pizza. the mashed potatoe pizza was greeeeeeat and it went great with the on tap ale they produce in the building. it was a little dingy looking, but all in all it was a nice place to grab an ale and a pie. the only complaint i had was the waitress that was unbelievably drunk (swaying back and forth against a wall, cross-eyed drunk) It took nearly an hour to get the pizza and 30 minutes to get another pitcher of the amBAR ale. If the service was a little better it woulda got a 5, but since the pizza was amazing and the beer was tight, it gets a 4. Pros: new haven style pizza, in house brewery, college chicks Cons: sloshy waitresses

I've only been to Bar twice. One time was to "go out" and dance with friends and the other time was to get Pizza. Bar knows what drunk people want, that's for sure (Pizza). The atmosphere has a dark and dirty vibe to it. It looks as though the building blew up and they never fixed it. They mostly play techno music so if you're into that then it's a good place to go.

The pizza is good, brick-oven style pizza, and they've got tons of choices. Not the best pizza I've had, but delicious nonetheless. I went on a Monday night after New Year's weekend and the place was packed. So choose your visiting time wisely - it's definitely a popular New Haven hotspot. We waited for a table for about 25 minutes which wasn't too bad, considering the hostess told us it could be an hour. So we just chilled by the bar and had a pint or two til our name was called. Service was efficient and the atmosphere was great. Easy on-the-street parking is also an added bonus. Pros: great atmosphere, great beer selection, location is key Cons: long wait, not much bar seating, crowded at times

OK, so it's a little trendy and the wait can be mind numbing on a Fri or Sat night but the pizza is your classic New Haven Italian stuff with the burned chewy crust out of the brick ovens, the crazy irregular shape and the wacky slice pattern - forget about the classic v-shape. The pizza is great though and the service is efficient. The only problem is the wait but there are options - sit in the big bar area on the left or at the smaller bar on the right. Same pizza and you might just make a friend! The candied pecans in the salad are also a must taste. Another tip - manage your name on the list. Our waitress disappeared for 1/2 an hour without bringing our first round of beers, and a passing waitress wouldn't help us because we weren't her table. Half the drinks finally arrived and our waitress said the rest wouldn't be on our bill. But when the bill came, they were on it, as well as pizzas and drinks we didn't even order!! When we tried to explain the mistake, she got angry and said that it was our fault because we were a large party!! We asked to speak to the manager but she just disappeared again. She finally brought back the correct bill, RUDELY threw it down, and when we said that our service had been terrible and we wouldn't be back, she immaturely shot back "GOOD." The waitress was beyond rude and the manager barely listened to us. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. Pros: absolutely none Cons: rude waitresses, unconciliatory mgr., dishonest billing
