Located off exit 46 of I-95 in the meat-packing area of New Haven, Long Wharf Theatre is New Haven's premiere theatre. Winner of Tony's and a Pulitzer, Long Wharf is the place to see up-and-coming playwrights, actors and directors. Two stages highlight larger productions as well as smaller plays and staged readings. Al Pacino called Long Wharf home twice. Their season runs September to May.

New Haven is known for it's Theatre, and Long Wharf has a long history of it. It's located on Sargent Drive, right off I-95 and has a lot of Broadway style theatre.. The 400+ seat theatre is nice, but usually cold. It's location leaves a lot to the imagination (located near a meat factory) and often has a pungent smell outside because of the meat. Long Wharf has many promotions -- sometimes pay what you can nights where you pay what you can for seats. If/when you go, don't buy tickets in sections A or G... You won't be happy and the shows are difficult to enjoy from these locations. They close during the summer, but have some type of show there even in off times.
