Decided to go back here after many years despite a few negative reviews and very glad we did. The service was impeccable, the food exceptional and the evening delightful. Somehow one of us got a very similar dish to another patron's. Hers was supposed to have shrimp and she did not find any so she asked about the missing shrimp and they returned with a plate twice the size with an extra side of shrimp as well as more bread and doting service. You felt like you were at your Grandmother's house with plenty of food, lots of attention and food cooked with care. Highly recommend Tony & Lucille's if you want a true dining experience.
Pros: Huge portions, real Italian food
Cons: Just some negative reviews out there

This is THE place to go for italian ices. They have like 50 different flavors. My favorite is honeydew ices. Priced fairly, this well known bakery always has a long line, not just for the amazing italian ices, but for the amazing italian pastries as well. They have about 10 different varieties of cannolis and they all look wonderful. This is the place to go on a hot summer night.

What to do when living in Hartford on a snowy Saturday.
1) Get in the car
2) Drive to BruRm @ BAR in New Haven
3) Consume many great beers brewed on the premises
4) Eat lots of excellent pizza (sorry Pepe's... you may have met your match - these pies can't be beat!)
5) Decide to get another couple of pizzas for tomorrow
6) Kill some time until you're legal to drive back to Hartford
Yep, that was our regular routine for three years. I still miss those pizzas and their outstanding beer.

Ibiza has been around for a few years and was formerly known as Tapas; they specialize in mediterranean/spanish (iberian peninsula) cuisine. So, you'll find alot of seafood here, prepared upscale-style with prices to match. Like all New Haven restaurants, it is rather small and thus kind of loud, especially if you have a larger party. Overall, I'd go back if someone else paid!

I dream about their berry bread pudding. I prefer it chilled (not nuked) with berry sauce on the side. The black bean soup is filling and flavorful. Atticus panini is FABULOUS a thick slice of Vermont ham. The bread basket is fun with various types of artisan bread from Chiabata and assortment of jam and jelly. Croissant is delish. Coffee may be super good or not as good (but always better than marginal). The place has wireless connection. I'll take Atticus over going to the big bad national coffee shop chain across the street any day!
Pros: dessert selection
Cons: unpredictable quality of coffee

This is a lovely little restaurant. While the prices can get alittle steep for your average bear, the lunch time menu can be quite reasonable with some lovely combinations of dishes and delicious sandwiches. I think the UNION LEAGUE CLUB for 7.00 - Grilled chicken club with smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, ginger, black pepper mayonnaise, served with housemade vegetable chips is a great deal for lunch in New Haven. The wine menu is amazing, and the decor is quite lovely, as The Union League Cafe occupies the historic Sherman Building.
I would recommend it for a business lunch or romantic dinner. The Bar is opened for cocktails from 11:30 a.m. until closing, with the Bistro Menu offered from 5:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

New Haven is known for several things; Pizza, Yale University, and Louis' Lunch.
Louie's (that's how it's pronounced) is supposidly the originator of the hamburger. They also will not (don't even ask) serve a burger with any ketchup. Bring your own packets if you must have ketchup because you won't see it in the restaurant.
What about ketchip for the fries? They don't sell fries here, only potato chips, so you're out of luck. The burgers come with all the standard toppings except for ketchup -- but you won't need it. The burgers come with spices cooked in, and it's a flavor you'll remember for years to come.
Louie has regular hours, but sometimes will open a little earlier or stay open later depending on the time of year.
If you want something to write home about, stop in here. It's inexpensive, and you'll be dining in some real New Haven history!

I have been here twice, both times were superb, but the first time was the best dining experience I've ever had. I can't even recall what we had (it was three years ago), but I can tell you that everything was seasoned to perfection from the amuse to the dessert. Service was 10/10. Having lived in NYC for 8 years, Ive been to lots of great restaurants and this one ranks right at the top. If I'm ever in the NYC area again, I would make a trip to New Haven for this place. It's that good.
Pros: great food
Cons: cant recall

First, I knew this was going to be pricey before I even stepped in the door. Roomba is a very small place in the Chapel area of town, and is located in the basement (thus its smallness). The food was wonderful, as well as tastefully decorated. IT is extremely expensive for New Haven, however, and the portions aren't plentiful at all; pretty much what you'd expect from an upscale eatery such as this.
