They're fussy. I came in to have lunch with a cup of green tea in a generic cup from work and they stated that I was not to bring in outside food. It's not a problem because I certainly won't be going there again.
The food is not worth the high price. I was forced to order a cookie in addition to my meal as they do not accept credit cards without a $9 purchase. The cookie (little people) was $1 and not at all good.
PROS: They appear to raise money for a lot of charities
CONS: Price, Food, general fussiness, credit card policy

Claire's corner is a wonderful place. It serves great vegan and vegie food, but the best thing is its bread. I love Claire's wheat bread! On top of that, Claire is a socially conscious shop, you don't tip, you donate to a good cause. You are asked to save on napkins etc. Claire's the place to go when I want to indulge myself.
PROS: wonderful bread, socially conscious
CONS: none

I went to school in New Haven and often went to Claire's for my morning meal. Because Claire's is a vegetarian/vegan bakery as well as a place for good lunch and dinner dishes, I thought it's baked goods would taste kind of weird. I was pleasantly surprised. They have these amazing giant muffins that have the best crunchy top but is sooo soft on the inside and they come in different varieties each day. They have rasberry, strawberry, mango, banana nut, apple, among others, although they normally only have two varieties each day. My favorite muffin is their chocolate and ricotta cheese muffin...sounds weird, but definitely yummy! They also have a nice selection of deserts, such as cakes, puddings, pies, etc., although I've always stuck to muffins and cookies. The price is fair and the taste will pleasantly surprise you. Nice staff too!
