There is not better artistic cuisine in the entire state than Miya's. The menu, which reads like a novel, is both entertaining and challenging, incorporating ingredients that you would never think go well together but does. You just have to go there.

I was not truly prepared for the selection on the menu. I have eaten sushi many times in many places, this was different. My taste buds enjoyed an explosion of flavors and combinations I would never have thought of under the guise of sushi. Though not any inexpensive meal, one well worth enjoying and taking others to. My one criticism is the available drink menu. The availability of some less exotic saki and or beer would have been desireable. Our waitress knew the entire menu by heart and was very helpful. An asside comment, though tall, she kneeled down to our level while explaining the menu and looked us in the eye.
Pros: The FOOD
Cons: high priced, drink selection

When we were deciding where to go for Thai food, there were many restuarants in the area to choose from. However, we noticed that this particular restuarant was always full with people dining so we dicided to try them. What we found was modest surroundings, good service and delicious food servie in large enough portions that you shouldn't walk away hungry. Also, the prices we definitely reasonable. If you like Thai food, you'll like this place.
Pros: Great food, excellent prices, large portions
Cons: None

The food at Bentara was out of this world! It was my first experience with Malaysian food and I was NOT disappointed! We ordered sping rolls as an appetizer. They were so tasty and light that they roll was literally flaking off (not in a bad way). The dipping sauce was sweet and spicy, an excellent combination. For my main course I had the Goreng pedas, almost like a beef stir fry with green beans, slivered onions, and diced potatoes. Again, very spicy and tasty. I'm actually eating the leftovers right now! My boyfriend had a steak that melted in your mouth! Thick, juicy, and tender.
Martinis were great as well! Service was wonderful too. I loved the atmosphere - classy, but casual.
I would definitely recommend Bentara to anyone who likes spicy food. If not, you probably won't enjoy it, as most dishes are labeled "spicy". I definietly plan to return soon.
Pros: food, service, atmosphere
Cons: parking

I have been a frequent customer at this amazing place. Its family friendly and service is great. They deliver too!! And you get the papadam (crunchy crackers). Ask for the chef recommendations and off the grill for healthy eaters. I ordered the Royal Mixed grill and they bought the dish out in a steaming hot plate and smelled and tasted exquisite. According to the owner its one of the first and oldest Indian Restaurant in new haven and their experience shows in their food. I have tried other Indian Restaurant and their Chicken Tikka Masala but nothing has compared it to Royal India, the chicken justs melts in your mouth and since I like fire, they can cook the food to your preference from mild american spicy to hot indian spicy. A nice dinner here with basmati rice and Chicken Tikka with a king-fisher beer will make it all worthwhile. Go now and see for yourself...Stacey
Pros: Finger Licking indian food with good value.
Cons: parking is off site at broadway but they will stamp your ticket.

I have been here several times and this one of the best indian restaurants, great price for the buffett in lunch special and good service overall.
i had the chicken mahkini chiken tikka masala - both sauces were creamy and full of taste, not watered down like other indian restaraunts
fish tikka masala - tastes so soft you barely have to even chew and the seasoning has a great kick to it
tandoori chicken - tastes good, tender and with right amount of lemon juice and masala, very addictive
i think my favorite drink is the mango shake, its refreshing and worth trying if you like mango flavor
Pros: great tasting food, affordable prices, good service overall
Cons: none

I don't know which to rave about first - the food or the bathrooms at Miso.
If you like sashimi (or sushi), the highest quality fish and chefs in New Haven are found at Miso. The rest of the menu is perfectly adequate for those who get squeamish eating uncooked foods, but the sashimi is as close to perfection as I've ever had except for the one time I went to Iron Chef Morimoto's restaurant in Philly. Funny story about that...when he comes to New Haven, apparently he eats at Miso! Check out their website.
It's not just the great food, though. The restaurant itself is gorgeous - very artfully designed without being too intimidating. You can stop in for lunch in jeans or arrive for dinner dressed to the teeth...you'll be taken in by your surroundings and put at ease - even the restrooms are beautiful!
A bit pricey during dinner by New Haven standards - though well worth it - but their lunch menu is very reasonable.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in New Haven; the service is great, always have enough water and can easily get waiters's attention. The food is good; highly recommend the noodles (all of them). Sometimes the ingredients are not super-fresh ...
Pros: service, inexpensive, thai noodles

My wife and I have been here twice since moving into the New Haven area. We went alone and then brought her mom along for the second run. The decor is very welcoming and the ambience was very calming. The staff were very helpful in their explanation of the dishes and very responsive to our needs. It is a very nice place to go to after work or to bring a couple of friends or family. The first time my wife had the chicken biryani and I had the Sea bass with a mustard sauce which was just simply delicious. The second time we visited, my mother-in-law had the chicken tikka masala, my wife the Lamb Kabob, and I had the Angare duck kabobi. We also had a side of the chicken biryani since it was so delicious the first time. The food was just as delicious as before and the coup de grace was that the mother-in-law really loved it as well. I highly recommend Thali's to all looking for some good Indian food or just good food period.
Pros: Very good food, nice decor, very knowledgeable staff
Cons: N/A
