The resturant is pretty busy especially on Friday nights and the weekends. Many people that frequent the resturant are students that attend Rutgers. The service is not stellar if you with a large group of people. They tend not remember who ordered what. However, their dishes are decently large at a reasonable price that are similar to the prices of Outback. If you are looking for a place to relax, socialize, and have a decent meal - this is your resturant.

My husband went to Rutgers and ate here many times as a student. He introduced me to this place. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Great service and great food. It can get loud on weekends when school is in session. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is not the place for you!

As a student at Rutgers University, Old Man Rafferty's is a nice change from the mass production of hamburgers and fries from the dining halls. It is reasonably priced, and has a nice college-like atmosphere. I recommend it for students whose parents are visiting and are eager to eat outside of the dining halls.

Such great food for a buffet brunch! They had everything from custom omelettes to crab legs, and their dessert was especially delectable. Their brunch prices were very affordable considering the gourmet type of food offered and the fact that it was "all you can eat" made it even better.

The desserts are the main attraction of this restaurant. The food is good, but nothing spectacular. The desserts however are wonderful. They have an interesting array of choices for dessert, all of which are made at the restaurant itself. Make sure you save enough room. You'll regret missing dessert.

The food at Raffertys ranges from steaks to burgers to pasta and everything in between. the service is great, however, often times you have a short wait. I have never had a bad meal here. they also have outdoor seating for the summer months in a closed in area with lots of plants and shrubs. it makes for a intimate dinning experience.

The food at this place is excellent, the service is top quality, the attitude is fun and full of life. The philosophy of appetizers and desserts first is one that I can definitely get behind.
The drawbacks of Raffertys are that they don't have a very big dining room and tend to get very backed up during busy times, so you can pretty much count on a wait whether you're going for lunch or dinner. Also, parking is a problem as this is in the middle of New Brunswick.
