I have been going here for about 4-6 years. When I first went to anchor bay, my cat was dying of cancer and they took really good care of him. Later after he passed away, I brought my two new kitties here. The prices have gone way up in the last 2 years, and many of the vets that started this practice have left, which is very sad. Talking to other vet clinics and other cat owners, the prices here are well over 100-200% more than other places. I have a cat that has special needs...so I have to visit the office more than once a year. The only thing that anchor bay has that has kept me coming back for the last year, is the hours, (appointments from 6am - 9pm), but I can no longer afford the prices. I also had issues with them setting up an appointment on New Years Eve, which they claimed was a holiday and would be $70 extra. I was not told this when I made the appointment, I was told this less than 2 hours before the appointment time (they called me). I even sent management an email with my concerns and NO ONE contacted me what so ever to discuss this. I am looking for a new clinic and would not reccomend this place at all.

Lisa, you are obviously THE advertising department at Anchor Bay Vet Centre. You know (or claim to know) way too much about the running of the practice. Do you think we were born yesterday? This looks like damage control to anybody with a brain. Lets just challenge any takers to rate and review the ABVC Warmth & Knowledge Experience. They told us the new building would be open in the fall of 2006, they've been advertising this water therapy pool for our overweight dogs for almost 3 years and it doesn't even exist. When every great veterinarian leaves a practice, every great receptionist leaves the practice, every single Licensed Vet Technician leaves a practice, not to mention lack of medication and their illusive management; well, lets just say it speaks for itself. There was one decent receptionist and now she's gone too. Good people don't stay there. But please, don't take my advice - keep an open mind and check it out for yourself and then come back here and let us curious readers see how your experience was and how YOU feel about the pet care and friendliness of the staff. Enquiring minds want to know!

This is definately the facility that you want to tend to the needs of your pets. Every one of the Doctors are caring and compassionate. They take all of the time needed to answer questions and address any concerns.
Further, the techs are knowledgeble and kind hearted. It is evident that these employees are well educated. In addition, the receptionists are very friendly, providing an exceptional experience from the first minute of contacting Anchor Bay.
As far as pricing, I have not yet experienced sticker shock. Anchor Bay provides state of the art services, yet strives to keep costs low. For example, they are currently working on a plan to add a store to their website. Here, clients will be able purchase discounted maintenance medications and pet accessories. The items are delivered directly to the client's home with no or low shiping fees which will further save the client the expense of not having to make a special trip to pick them up. By eliminating the on-site storage of wares that are not intended for emergencies, Anchor Bay lowers costs and passes the savings on to the client. Of course, emergency medications will be readily available at the clinic as, again, the website store will be strictly for maintenance medications and accessories. I learned all of this from one of the receptionists....You know - one of the front desk people one reviewer labled a clown.
As far as the construction, I can't attest to any disarray as I did not visit during that time, but have you ever done a home improvement project? From start to finish there is always disorder of one sort or another. That's just the way it is. And by the way, the decision to add on was to expand the top notch care for the pets that we hold dear to our hearts.

I can??????t say enough GOOD about Anchor Bay Vet. Dr. Keskitalo and his staff of Vets are not only up to date on the latest procedures, but they still care about the pets and pet owners.
I first went to Anchor Bay in 1983, (it was just Dr. Keskitalo then) in 2008 he is still the same kind, knowledgeable and trust worthy Vet I knew then. I have never found his staff to be anything but helpful, kind and compassionate.
I see negative comments on the new construction here, but keep in mind a practice doesn??????t grow without loyal pet owners returning because they trust the doctors. Dr. Keskitalo has devoted himself to the care of animals and Anchor Bay Vet will be a state of the art facility. They will have the ability to do test and procedures on site, this will save the pet owner money and time in knowing test results to determine illness. We are thankful Anchor Bay Vet has been there for our loved pets, they have taken us through some hard illnesses with compassion and the best of care. Shady,Honz,Ziggy and now Sadie.

I would never take any animal to this veterinary clinic again. The management is more interested in the new addition to their building then about the animals they treat. I have had numerous misdiagnoses before I smartened up and changed vets.

Dr. McInnis is our Yorkie's vet. She always takes time to patiently answer our million questions and she listens too all of our concerns. The amount of time that she puts into making sure that her clients understand exactly what is going on with their pets has greatly exceeded what we would have ever expected.
Dr. McInnis has a special interest in dentistry and she did an amazing job on our Yorkie's oral surgery.
The prices are fair for what is offered and we would recommend her to anyone.

They didn't have the med. I needed for heart worm, or for flees, but they sure took the money to do the heart worm test. They told me a month before that it was on order, but they still didn't;t have it. I'm sure that they specialize in something, but it sure isn't management. I've gone there for years, and increasingly been disappointed in service, and have lost all my confidence in them. and no I wouldn't recommend them. I wished that they could be in the little old house where we all trusted them, and knew that they loved our animals, now it all about the money, and the hell with the animals. I'm sure that it's not the veternarians falt, it just that it's now a supermarket, and your lucky if you get ten minutes with them, and o'boy what a bill.

Save your time, money, and pet's health. Steer clear of these clowns. Front desk couldn't find manager to address my complaints, they did not have the Drs first choice of drug for my dog. The place was under-construction and in serious dis-array, I believe it was under construction the last time I was there a few years ago. Something is really wrong if a construction project last 3 or 4 years, I will be finding a new clinic for my dog.

This place is definitely the place to take your animals if you need a veterinarian. The do everything from office visits, to blood work, to surgery for your pets. They give your animal his or her shots. This place is great with animals and their prices are fair and very reasonable and they take excellent care of your pets.
