Martin Honda is terrible. I went there in need. I told them my situation. I had no down payment. They kept running my credit. Showing me cars that were not in my range. Then when we settled on a car i signed the papers, they kept it for the night to do routine repairs. they were supposed to call me at 12 to pick my car up didn't get a call till 3 went in at 5. they tell me to wait for another hour while i sit in my car and adjust the seats and everything to my liking. Only to come in and have them tell me that the cars all mine BUT I HAD TO GIVE THEN $1900!!! They are con artists. Don't trust MARTIN.I WOULD recommend them to my worst enemy

Martin's Honda is plain awful. I wish I would've seen the reviews here first, but fortunately I left before deciding to leave my Civic.
I had three minor problems: my power locks were not working, the AC was blowing hot air and the brake light was on although the brakes were fine.
I was told by the AAA guy that they were all related and an electrical problem.
At Martin's the counter guy was incredibly condescending and borderline rude to me. He insisted that the three problems were not related and said all would have to be diagnosed separately, at 100 for the lock, 100 for the AC and 50ish for the breaks, and he quoted me around $650 for everything before looking at the car at all. Unlike Union Honda in Wilmington, the diagnostic fees are not refunded (or credited) if you need work done.
He told me it was pure coincidence that all three things went at once, even though I knew they were all related.
One of the nice lower staff boys told me to go to Pep Boys--who will check your brakes for 10.50 (refunded if work is done)---and guess what? All three problems are related, and the result of a multiplex problem.
Avoid Martin's like the plague. I will never tolerate that kind of customer service.
Here's the kicker: my husband is in the market for a new Honda in the next couple of months. Guess where we're not going?!

Basically, Martins is to be avoided. Their staff is rude, and is unfamiliar with common Honda problems. They will insist on diagnosing everything at $100 a problem, even if the problem is a common source. I was quoted $650 for a problem without anyone looking at my car. Despite the service rep's insistence, all three problems were related and not "coincidence" as I was told. Said problem was correctly diagnosed for 10.50 at Pep Boys, and turned out to be relatively minor.

I also found the staff to be rude and condescending. They tried to use just about every trick in listed in the Tips and Advice section on Edmunds.com (the article ??Confessions of a Car Salesman?? is a must read for anyone buying a car, new or used). I guess they figure no one does their homework. Lots of switch ups with ??gotta go ask my boss??, lots of rounds of letting us say thanks-but-no-thanks only to stop us at the door and come down again on the price (not nearly far enough). Some outright bullying and insults where used (??That is an insulting and embarrassing price, I will not go into my boss??s office with that??). The real typical crap that earn car salesmen a bad reputation. The more I negotiated with them, the nastier they became (they hate researchers who come in prepared, although say they ??encourage online research??. They try and pull up Kelly Blue Book on their desktop PC??s to appear as though they are not hiding anything. Once they new my level of knowledge goes a bit deeper than just an invoice price??that made them angrier still. I used them for a local place to test drive but ended up driving up to Doylestown to Keenan Honda to buy my car. It was worth it, Keenan was great. Martin gets its business because of its location in beautiful Newark, DE. If it were not for the fact that Honda does force people to drive an hour and half between dealerships, I wonder if these jokers would have enough money to buy their own gas. I have read the other reviews about their service station and dread having to travel far and wide to find another Honda Service Center. Based on my experience with their sales people, I am not hard pressed to believe the reviews on their Service department. Their used car sales people (the lot is across the street from the dealership) have high turnover and do not know anything about the cars they are selling. They provided i

Everytime that I go to Martin Honda, the receptionists and the entire staff act in the rudest manner.
Their business would NOT Prosper if they continue to discriminate against Customers. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND any one to get their Car Serviced at Martine Honda, because No one seems to want to work there. (probably poor management). They do NOT KNOW how to work on cars and never complete what is asked of them. I have experienced this many times. I kept giving them another chance because I thought someone mught have been having a bad day..but BAD SERVICE IS AN EVERYDAY DEAL AT MARTIN HONDA. DO NOT GO THERE!!!
PROS: NONE!!!
CONS: EVERYTHING...Especially Staff

So I went to Martin Honda to get a routine check up and oil change. When I picked the car up, I was told the rattle that wasn't there before, was nothing to be concerned about and it was a useless little piece that will naturally fall off.
A few days later, my car isn't working. Upon brining my car back to Martin Honda (at my expense), they realized that the engine was destroyed when they forgot to put the oil cap back on, causing oil to explode onto my engine, rendering it useless. After a HUGE hassle, we were given an engine (used) at no cost, while I went weeks without a car as they refused to give a loaner. I was so furious with the whole situation I didn't fight with them about it, but the new car we're buying in a few months certainly won't be from Martin Honda.
PROS: In a nice part of town
CONS: Condescending staff, Apparently have problems with Routine Oil Changes
