Library with a lot of amenities. Of course, it has the books and references, but it also has DVD, VHS, and CD audio too. I'm always borrowing CD's and DVD's. The staff members were very helpful when I was looking for information on sea life. This library’s parking lot has only one way in and out.

Holy Family was my wife's parish for the years she lived in Delaware. The church itself is very modern and adheres to the "church in the round" mentality, so if you like old-fashioned stained glass and tiled mosaics, this isn't the church for you. The people seemed really friendly, and there were at least three priests and two deacons stationed at the parish. One thing that really stands out about this church is how they decorate for advent and lent. You have to see it to believe it.

White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church is a historical building and congregation that has been in service for over 200 years. The main sanctuary is lovely in it's typical Presbyterian common decorating. The Church offers a variety of church services, and offers nursery, sunday school, and adult classes. Although the congregation has grown in the past decade, the church still retains it's personable atmosphere. Handicapped accessible and plenty of parking for it's congregation. Visitors are welcome with open arms, and made to feel at home.

White Clay Creek State Park is a serene state park bordering Newark to the north. In the summer, there are concert series and films are shown on large, outdoor movie screens. The walking trails are well-blazed, and many "unofficial" trails lead off to private properties. The only downside is that if you don't live in Newark, you have to pay to park your vehicle. There are also plenty of picnic tables and a few shelters for large gatherings.

For all of you who live in the Newark/WIlmington area, the University of DE is a great place to take your children for ongoing cultural activites that many times are free to the public. The University is a good place to take your children when they are bored and have nothing to do.
For example, there was a famous artist Paul Jones that donated his art collection to the school this past spring through the summer months. I took my child to see the exhibit to learn about the collection and learn about a famous artist she was unfamiliar with and it was all free. The University also offers lecture series if you wish to do more in depth study for adults, music and movie programs to the public.

Newark Parking Authority is the local center for all info on the city's parking ordinances, obtaining parking permits, and everything of that sort. You'll also find plans on the beautification of the overpass/train bridge at the end of Main Street. The NPA is located in the gallery shopping center on the second floor next to Brew Ha-Ha. They also have t-shirts and sweatshirts with the proposed bridge mural for sale; I bought a hoodie for $10! Friendly staff and tons of useful information for city-wide transportation
