The Loveless Motel and Cafe first started serving its famous fried chicken and biscuits in 1951. They set up picnic tables in the front yard and sold chicken from the front door to travelers driving up and down US Highway 100. It wasn’t long before they converted the old home into the restaurant that you see today. Not much has been changed, so if you picture in your mind and old motel and café…this is it.
I have only been for breakfast, so I have not tried the fried chicken that they are famous for. I have no doubt that it would be heavenly. Breakfast alone is wonderful. I always have one of the breakfast platters. It comes with 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, grits or potatoes, and the best biscuits I have ever eaten served with homemade preserves, honey and sorghum. The biscuits alone are worth the trip! The dinner menu is typical southern food; fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, catfish and more. This is a great place to eat!

I have eaten at the Loveless Cafe several times. The fried chicken and country ham are my favorites. Food is served family style with plenty of hot biscuits. The hosts are hospitable and striking up a conversation with other diners is easy. The atmosphere is simple and casual. It is worth the drive out highway 100 from Nashville for a bite of southern cooking.

The Loveless Cafe is a place not to be missed for locals and tourists alike. The breakfasts there are fabulous. You can't go wrong with their biscuits and homemade jams. The place looks a little scary, which made my Californian husband a little apprehensive, but it's such a great atmosphere inside, and the food is so good that it is quickly forgotten.

This place has great breakfast food. It is located in the middle of nowhere and has a scary looking motel and the service is slow but very friendly. But GREAT food and they give you an assortment of homemade jams for your biscuits. Buy some jam to take home. My parents visited from NJ and they loved this place.
