Nashville is very lucky to have the Frist Center. Its architecture alone makes the trip worthwhile. The Frist offers world class exhibitions such as the recent French impressionist collection including originals by Monet and others. It is a truly amazing experience that is definitely worth the trip. The center offers a great cafe, interactive children's exhibits, and often local artist exhibits.

The Hermitage, is a beautiful mansion built in 1837. I was the home of past President Andrew Jackson and his wife Rachel. The guides dress in period style clothing and guide you very well through the area. There is also a beautiful heirloom garden where you can visit the grave of the former president and his wife. A great history lesson for the kids.

Priced a bit higher than the average used CD at times, but possibly worth it for the excellent selection. Vinyl, cassette, CD, DVD, comic books, posters, VHS, and more are all available.
Check out the Great Escape discount store too, open Fridays and Saturdays, only a block away from the main store. Talk about bargains!

This is a good place to bowl cheap. It has family specials and specials on holidays. It has a bowling league and is open long hours for bowling at all hours. It is a pretty clean and is reasonably safe. They have good summer program for kids. With every A or B on your kid's end of the year report card, you child gets a free game.

This is a really great bike shop. I have taken my son's mountain bike there several times for repair and maintance and they always do a great job for a really good price. They also sell all kinds of bikes and bike accessories and equipment. They employees are really helpful and nice. I would reccommend this place to anyone. It is also the only bike shop on this end of town.

This shop doesn't usually have high quality antiques, but the prices are reasonable. Occasioanlly you may find something interesting although it doesn't happen very often. I would definitely not go if I was just visiting town, there are better shops around. If you live here it is worth a visit every now and then.

It's fun, cultured and something to do beside the regular movie and dinner. Oh and it's FREE! Yea! Local actors put on a couple weeks of one of Shakespeare's plays. It's in the Centennial Park, but there is a little stage area where it takes place, so you can see the play and they have a speaker system so you can hear the actors. So take your friends, your boyfriend, your dog, your mom or go solo. But be prepared to enjoy a little sun and fun. This place has such a huge selection of anything that you would need for any outdoor event. My favorite part of going there is walking over to their enormous fireplace area where they've created a lodge-like sitting area:)
It's the first place I'll go for a gift certificate for any of the men in my family.
