Derek was our photographer for our engagement pictures as well as our wedding pictures and I would highly recommend him to anyone! My husband and I both freeze in front of cameras but Derek helped us to feel comfortable and relaxed, and thus was able to capture some amazing and very special moments. Throughout the process, he was very personable, yet professional and a breeze to work with. His expertise and familiarity with wedding photography allowed our wedding day to flow smoothly and without a hitch. We received our proofs via DVD very soon after the wedding and were truly impressed with the quality of his work. I am a wedding coordinator/planner and I enjoyed working with Derek on a wedding we had together this past September. He was very busy when I first called him, but told me what I needed to know and then I felt pretty confident knowing he had the timeline for the day and photography start time all set. He was very efficient with pictures and got some great shots of my bride and groom. He does amazing work for a great price because he loves what he does!! I would highly recommend Derek for any bride that wants a great photographer for engagement or the wedding day shots. He really has a talent for what he does! Dear Readers, here is the truth ABOUT THE REVIEW BELOW: She booked me, then had to change the date. I was not available for her new date. She thanked me for how well I've handled everything and referred one of her friends to me, as her friend was getting married too. Somewhere around 2 months after she couldn't find another photographer, she wrote me back asking if I had other specific dates available. I didn't have her dates available and she later asked for her $325.00 back. I don't return deposits after a date is reserved. One year later, she wrote saying she would leave a bad review if I didn't give her $325.00 To sum things up, she is upset because I didn't refund her initial $325.00 deposit. Once a date has been reserved, deposits for said date are non-refundable. I have all copies of all emails from 2007 to present for any readers to view in person. Thanks, Derek!

Let me just say Thank You Derek! Derek did an absolutely wonderful job. He is a great photographer and easy to work with. He and his assistant showed up early and started shooting... I had not even realized they had arrived. They did a fantastic job catching all the moments of the day. The pictures are beautiful. I spent months looking for a photographer; honestly, it was really my own concern as I had two mothers planning the rest of our wedding. I was devastated to realize that all of the photographers I liked would have cost $10,000+ for what I was looking for. The moment I walked into Derek's Studio, I knew I was going to book him. There was nothing left to consider. His work is right up there "the Best of the Best" with those photographers who are looking to brake the bank, but he he really has AFFORDABLE prices. Not to mention, he is so great to work with! In my opinion, anyone would be crazy not to book him. He gives you exactly what you want for a fraction of the cost! I just wanted to say that the pictures taken of our daughter's September wedding were the most beautiful of any I have seen anywhere. Now I know I am prejudiced with the pictures being of my child, but I took time before we contacted Derek to look at a lot of pictures on a lot of websites and his are as good as it gets. The photographs have given us incredible memories of their special day. Not only were the pictures well done but he was so kind and easy to work with. When searching for a wedding photographer, I found the Affordable Photography web site and the prices seemed too good to be true. So, before hiring Derek (Affordable Photography), I checked him and the company out with the Better Business Bureau and on line reviews on several web sites. I found nothing but positive information. He even has a great photo of downtown posted on the Nashville.gov web site (just go to Nashville.gov and search on Derek Lee). After talking with him in person and reviewing more of his work, we decided to hire him. Our daughter was married in August and I can tell you that I'm sure glad we decided on Affordable Photography. Derek and his assistant showed up on time (actually, early), had a plan, kept us on schedule without being pushy and were pleasant and accommodating to all of our requests. They took photos before, during and after the wedding and at the reception and I can't say enough good things about the quality of Derek's work. Not only did he capture the event, but he captured the emotion of the day as well. We probably could have paid a lot more for a photographer but I don't believe the quality of the photos would have been any better. Plus, we can buy high-quality, professional reprints of the photos in larger sizes on the web site at about what you would pay if you went to the local drug store. I highly recommend Derek and Affordable Photography. The pictures are everything we hoped they would be and we got them at a great price! I cannot recommend Derek Lee of Affordable Wedding Photography highly enough. He was absolutely wonderful to work with. At our very first meeting, he spent an hour and a half answering all of my questions and just talking with me about what he does and the services he provides. On the day of our wedding, Derek arrived right on time and ready to start shooting. He made sure that we were on schedule so that we didn't miss getting any of the pictures we really wanted. He was efficient and extremely easy to work with, giving great direction and taking a wide variety of shots. Derek also did a great job of capturing the little moments of the day, all the way from getting ready to our send-off at the end of the evening--all of the candid shots were taken with care and were just as special (if not more so) than the posed photos. Derek was extremely discrete during both the ceremony and reception. I didn't even notice him once during the ceremony, yet he didn't miss a single important moment. He was also more than happy to take any pictures requested by us and our guests. The CD of our photos, along with our online gallery information, arrived just 2 weeks after the wedding date--exactly as promised. All of the images are extremely high quality, with clear attention to detail. And the fact that all of Derek's packages are reasonably priced is the icing on the cake. My husband and I also found Derek (Affordable Wedding Photography of Nashville) on the internet. We were immediately impressed with his work. We researched many, many other photographers, but we always came back to Derek. He did a wonderful job with both our engagement and wedding photos. He was very professional, very patient, and he was like a ninja at the wedding (where he took over 600 photos!). When I told people how many there were, they couldn't believe that only one photographer had been there. The photos are all so beautiful!! We absolutely love them!!!
