It's simple-- great gym. great trainers. great results.
I trained here during my entire pregnancy and Kate took excellent care of me (and my little one). I've since moved out of state and I miss it! Kate is an expert on cracking jokes and making you laugh while she works your bootie off!!
Do yourself a favor-- GO!!
Pros: innovative equipment, versatile work-outs.

It was a busy weekend, but the manager was managing the place pretty efficiently. In a minute, our pedi chairs were ready, and the lady were waiting for us. While they're working on, they were friendly even though they didn't speak English fluently. They constantly asked if everything was all right. They never chatted each other and paid full attention to our feet and nails. Through pedicure and manicure, we felt well treated and are very happy with the job they did. We're definitely going back.
Pros: Way better then Venetian
Cons: bit crowded

I had gone to some other dance studios in another state before I moved to Nashville. I found the service severely lacking in those schools, so I was reserved when coming to National Dance Clubs. I had also heard about the high pressure-sales and the expense, but I really wanted to learn at a good school and was ready to pay for it if it was to be had. I am a teacher myself, and so I know a thing or two about teaching.
National Dance Clubs was the most friendly school I had been to...(I had tried 2 other schools). When I came to a party, everyone knew me...and if they didn't, I was introduced by the teachers. I always felt very welcome, which I definitely did not at other schools.
I never had a problem with the so-called high pressure. The first time I went, I left my purse in the car--but I went out and got it because I was so impressed with the quality of the service and the knowldgeability of my teacher. Yes, they did tell me about some things I could not do or did not really want to do because I could not afford it, and yes, they did ask more than once, but I am a big girl, and if I do not or cannot do it, I smile and say no thank you...once, twice, three times. Frankly, I would be a little insulted if they decided for me what they thought I could or could not afford and did not make me aware of opportunities they were offering to other people. They were never cold or mean...ever.
I have worked it out and the private lessons do run about $100/private hour. By today's standards, that is NOT expensive for private instruction. In fact my daughter's gymnastic coachings are just about as much, and this is for both me and my husband...who, by the way, has paid more for private golf lessons. I certainly think there is a LOT of value in the price, because not only do we get superlative instruction, but we feel part of the studio through their many events and parties.
Be wary of places that say they only charge $50 or $60 dollars per lesson. They do not tell you about the floor rental you have to pay to use the floor. Also, I have heard that because these are floor rental studios and do not employ their teachers, you are actually subcontracting help and may technically be responsible for the taxes. That was something I just did not want to even worry about!
Also, at pay-by-the-lesson studios, there is usually not an over-arching goal planned or lesson plan, which, as a teacher I value very much. I know exactly what I can expect to learn with a block of lessons. I know people who have had to stop lessons because of circumstance and were afraid that they had lost their money because of what they had heard from people who had never been at NDC, but the supervisors were very understanding and offered a payment plan, to put their lessons on hold, or a refund.
I just wanted to put my 2 cents in because I saw those harsh reviews--some from people who had never been there.
You get what you pay for. If you want to be treated like a valued customer with a lot of potential as a dancer, given lots of opportunity to really enjoy what you have learned, and get to meet a lot of really wonderful, positive, and supportive people, both teachers, supervision and staff, and certianly not least, the students, try out the National Dance Clubs. I go to the Brentwood location.
Pros: Terrific service and a variety of different opportunities
Cons: Leaves you wanting more

If you are interested in an excellent cut and color, go see Wendy Hardaway at HairVoyant Salon. She listens to you unlike some stylists I have been to. She has been doing my hair for a few years and I am always satisfied. She is a professional in every way. She understand the trends of today and knows how to make that work with your hair. As a bonus, the salon has been updated and has lost the beauty parlor feel it once had. It has a modern look now and a nice variety of shampoos. Sometimes the front desk feels a bit unorganized, but overall it is a good salon and Wendy is the best!!! Go see her!
Pros: Wendy, location
Cons: lighting

Not only do they treat you like an equal, but they make you feel special. They kept raving about my hair which is just a big fat naturally curly aka mat-prone mop. Not only was my hair stylist, Barbara, very nice, but she came out to greet me, showed me where to go, came and got me as soon as the shampoo girl was done, and at the end showed me the way out, and I was not wandering around like an idiot in a house of mirrors. She also made some suggestions and charged me a fair price. And she enabled me to do my good deed for the day by asking me if I wanted to donate nine inches of my hair to the Vanderbilt program that makes wigs for children with cancer.
I could count on one hand the number of times I have been in a beauty parlor since I was a kid. I am VERY uncomfortable in places like this, and I need my hair stylist to make me feel comfortable. In the past I always end up with snotheaded young girls, the kind who treated me like dirt in school, and I stay away from these places for years and attempt to cut my hair myself. I am grateful to finally find a place I can finally go and not dread going.

Emma's Flowers and Gifts are located in the heart of the Vanderbilt district. They are easily located; everybody knows where they are. I simply love dealing with this place, as they are the best. I have used them on numerous occasions and have never been displeased. Their store is remarkable. It's nice and clean, and it's really a cool place. They specialize in anything you want; that's right. They will make anything you need or want. Just tell them the likes and dislikes of a person, and they will take it from there.
