The Stockyard is in a really old building and is decorated in old southern style. The restaurant definitely feels different than most other newer feeling steakhouses, the feel is more men in suits with cigars - and they actually sell cigars. The steaks are very good and I recommend trying the oscar style that adds great flavor.

my hubby and I went there for our 20th anniversary and was made to feel as though we were the only people in the restaurant. The service by Larry was outstanding, the food absolutely fantastic!!He saved a table for us in the jazz bar for after dinner entertainment by the amazing Begee Adair. What a wonderful night! We told our neighbors about and they went the following night and had the same wonderful experience. We'll be back again and again!
Pros: Best food, wine, waiters, somelier
Cons: NONE!!!!

first of all, this place has an amazing atmosphere. and the prices are also amazing. you can get a drink, soup or salad, an entree, and dessert for what? under eight bucks a person? you do get what you pay for, you get more than what you pay for. as far as the food goes, it is fairly decent italian food. its always very quick and the service is professional.
Pros: prices, food.
Cons: sometimes a wait, downtown=pay for parking.

I have lived all over the country and my boyfriend has lived in Japan and this is hands down the freshest sushi in Nashville. We have tried various other places including Virago and P.M. and while the other 2 offer more innovative rolls, it is more about the fluff and less about the fish. Ichiban also has an authentic Japanese cuisine and the waitstaff are very nice and helpful.
Pros: QUALITY, service
Cons: parking downtown

I used to go to Mikado with my family when I was younger but for no specific reason I never got a chance to make it out there as I would have liked to. I do specifically remember their ginger sauce that went on the salads. Since then, I always compare their sauce with other japanese restaurants and it just does not match up to Mikado's. I was recently asked to go there with a friend and it was like being back at home. Not only was the sauce just as I remembered but the food was beyond satisfaction, accompanied by a very reasonable tab for the quality of food. As far as service goes, I have worked in the restaurant business for a number of years therefore there are certain things I expect when I go out to eat. The service you recieve at a restaurant can make or break the place and I could not have been more satisfied. The chefs were hilarious, servers were friendly and not overbearing, bartender kept a great conversation going, and even the host was very polite and took great care of us. I feel bad for not coming back sooner, but I will definitely make up for it in the future. No complaints here!

My wife and I tried to plan our wedding for months. Finally, one day, we said "Saturday, we get married!". It was, of course, Friday. We packed quickly, ran to a local chapel the next morning, and got married. When we returned to Nashville to find a hotel room for a short honeymoon, we realized that we had gotten married during Fanfare weekend (or whatever they call it now).
Not only did Loew's find a room for us, though, they found us a fabulous room. The bed was the best I've ever laid in, and you can order one from them, apparently- and the prices are relatively inexpensive. We'll be buying our next bed there. The rooms were marvelous. There was a private lounge where we were able to get free drinks and snacks regularly, served by one of the staff, with comfortable seating, all the local papers, national papers, magazines, etc. There were multiple places to eat right in the hotel, including some of the nicest restaurants in the city. There's even an art gallery. It was perfect. The only thing I missed was that I wished they had rooms available with a jetted or jacuzzi-style tub. Definitely worth the stay.

I really loved this hotel for our honeymoon. We didnt have long to wait before our honeymoon. Flew out the next day...but it was really gerat to have such personal service in our suite. Late checkout was great too for us...I highly recommend Loews for your honeymoon or any special night. Be sure to tell them your special needs and they'll help you out! The bar is great late night.
Pros: great value, cool bar...quiet

We wanted a place that inlcuded everything and we found it! We had the choice of an A La Carte (the reviewer below chose) that was just for the facility and we would have had to choose our rentals individually or a Package and the package inlcuded everything and at a reasonable price. We decided not to go with the A La Carte because we didn't like the idea of picking our own vendors (maybe that is why she paid $1000 for her cake- she choose her own) and rentals. I found Riverwood to be extremely fair. I'm not sure the lady that wrote the review below paid attention to the package she chose. When you choose A La Carte at a restaurant that means nothing comes with it. Go for the package, its awesome!!
Pros: Everything included
Cons: None

Joe's Crab Shack is a fun lively seafood restaurtant right near the middle of downtown Nashville. Street parking is near impossible so you have to pay but there are a few lots within one block and if you look the prices range. The restaurant is large and can hold very large groups. The menu is large and meets pretty much any of your seafood wants.
