I had seen a review of Savarino's in the Nashville scene and I wanted to try them out because they were supposedly authentic Italian. We went to their store and the owner really IS Italian, literally off the boat. He used to work in the biggest pastry store in NYC and he is from Staten Island transplanted to Nashville. The pastries and cookies there are very very tasty and if you go to Savarino's on a Friday or Saturday they have their own fresh baked prosciutto bread. The prices are very reasonable and the people in the store are really nice. Whenever I'm in the area I try to get to Savarino's.

I have never been in the shop, but they catered some events I was at. the negative side is that they always had the same things, the positive side is that the food is real italian. The catering people are real italians, born in italy. They also grew up in Italy. Worth trying.
