We went to our scheduled appointment and have never been treated so rudely! The owner made several insulting remarks to my daughter. She was very pushy and kept insisting she put on dresses that were not even her style while not paying attention to what my daughter wanted. I've heard people try to explain away the owner's attitude because of her nationality, but rude with an accent is still rude!! I would never recommend this place to anyone and really don't know how they are still in business.

I went into village bridal on the recommendation of a friend of a friend. My mother, MOH, Event planner were with me. We had no appointment. Nor had we called. Elizabeth was waiting on another bride, but said she would be right with us. I looked at dresses just knowing I would see the perfect dress and I did right away... Elizabeth and I talked about the wedding, our style and what I wanted... she set the "perfect" dress aside and we continued to look. I narrowed my search to 10 dresses. Waiting for the perfect dress to try on last. To my surprise, the perfect dress was "passe, too fru fru and very heavy"... elizabeth was not surprised as she realized I had a stomach I wasn't happy with.. she gently steered me to what was the perfect dress.. of course for a 47 yr. in the middle of a hot flash anything short of a iced down mini dress would not do!... She found me a beautiful light (in weight), unique in color, hey I am more mature... appropriate and beautiful dress. The dress covered my "tummy concern" and with she and Irene (the tailor)'s eye and sewing skills concealed it even more. I did not want strapless and she completely redid the top into a very original design perfect for me. She explained all the altering fees in advance so I was not surprised. I did two final fittings in one day which was perfect for me since I live 1.5 hours away... I would recommend village highly..I would also suggest making an appointment when Elizabeth will be there and isn't already scheduled. Also, she is direct with her customers.. I wanted honesty not a lie in order to sell a dress. If you don't look good.. she will try her best to steer you to another style or offer alteration suggestions. For me this was one of her best assets...
Pros: knowledgeable, nice, great selection, talented
Cons: need more places to sit while waiting

I signed up for a Citysearch account just so that I could leave this review and wish I could leave a 'zero'
The owner, or perhaps it is just an employee, of this store is incredibly rude! I am getting married in September and my mom was visiting from out of town. I had driven by Village Bridal many, many times but had never been in. We decided to stop in and look.
When we walked in no one was in the front of the store. I said "hi!" so that someone in the back could hear me, and then my mom and I made comments about how pretty some of the items were.
Finally a woman from the back came out and said to us very tersely, "What do you want?" We replied we were interested in looking at some items and the woman shot back, "AND?" She continued to just stand there looking at us incredulously until we backed out of the store.
It was a very odd and rude experience. If you are looking for a place that will make you feel special, this is not it. If you are looking for a place where someone treats you like a normal person and is even vaguely polite, this is also not the place.
Pros: None
Cons: Rude owner, bad customer service

I went into Village Bridal on my way to workout one day. I was wearing workout clothing, but it was VERY clear that the owner would never deal with riff-raff like me, and that if I wasn't wearing a Versace dress and didn't have on a $50K engagement ring on, then I shouldn't be bothering her in her store.
I ended up buying my beautiful $4K dress from Faccio Bridal in Franklin, where I'm treated amazing regardless if I'm wearings sweats, workout clothing, or anything else.
Do not go to Village Bridal if you want to have a pleasant experience.
Pros: None that I could tell
Cons: Rude, Rude, Rude

I have mixed feelings about this place. I did try on several dresses at other places and thought I knew what I wanted. When I walked into Village Bridal, she put all these dresses in the dressing room for me that I normally would not pick out myself. I ended up with the perfect dress. She knew exactly what would look good on me. However, I noticed a stain on the one I tried on, but no big deal, I was getting one special ordered from Italy. But, when I came back 6 months later to try on my "new" dress...I noticed the same stain. BTW...I had to call her, she never called me to tell me it was in. When I went in to see my new dress, I noticed the same stain in the same spot. I really didn't think about it until later. So I called the store and spoke to her or the other lady there and she insisted she ordered a new one. When I went back, the stain was gone. So I do think I was ripped off, but I loved the dress and there was only a few months til the wedding. But she did a wonderful job altering it. It was too big and she made it fit like a glove. It was strapless, and I didn't have to worry about it falling down. I thought $200 was a little extreme, but nothing I could do. I loved my dress and got lots of compliments. I think her culture makes it difficult to relate to her though, and understand what she is saying. I would say check this place out, just be cautious.
Pros: great alterations
Cons: expensive

Let me first tell you I am not the person to write reviews, but I am still so upset and furious that I want to scream "I hate village bridal" to everyone in the world! I gave it one star because it wouldn't let me give 0!
My first experience with Village Bridal was when I went over to see my best friends wedding dress being altered. She had already bought the dress, she was just in to be fitted.
Days later, my friend had told me village bridal was giving them a discount if all the bridesmaids dresses were purchased there. My friend's mother insisted on picking the dresses there, and thus, picked out the dresses the bridesmaids were wearing. All we needed to do was be fitted for our sizes and then we would get the dresses.
I went in for my fitting and waited at least 20 minutes. She acknowledged me, but only because I approached her and asked her what was taking so long. I simply needed my measurements taken, how hard and time consuming is that?
I got my measurements and she "happened to have my size of that dress in the store." I tried it on, and it was entirely too big. She insisted on me ordering that size, because she knew that it would fit once they were specially made and ordered. I took her advise, being that I assumed she knew what she was doing, and ordered the size she wrote me down for.
Next thing I know, my friend, the bride, is calling me crying because the owner of Village Bridal got the dresses mixed up and was having all the bridesmaids fitted for the WRONG dress! My first thought was "if you are in this business to sell dresses, shouldn't you make the effort to get the correct order!!??" The owner was DAYS away from sending in the orders for the dresses!
We all had to be refitted for the dresses, and didn't receive ONE apology from the owner, who made the mistake. She was so rude I could hardly even breathe. I would have exploded if the bride wasn't in the room for my new fitting. I kept trying to hold my cool because I knew my friend was already upset and didn't want to make her more upset about her wedding- dangerous territory!
So about a few months later we get the dresses in, and I go to try it on with the bride. It is HUGE and of course the owner insisted that Village Bridal alter it! How convenient! I already spend $200 on the dress and she wants another $200 to have it altered! I DO NOT THINK SO! It was EXTREMELY unprofessional of the owner to insist on the particular size to fit me (not to mention she did the SAME thing for all of the other bridesmaids), and it arrives and it doesn't fit and it needs $200 of alterations for it!
Not only was I FURIOUS from her completely manipulating and taking advantage of me, the bride, and ALL of the 8 bridesmaids, but the dresses were THE WRONG COLOR! When I came out the bride was practically in tears saying IN FRONT OF THE STORE OWNER that it wasn't the right color and it isn't what she wanted! The owner did not say ONE word except that "it's beautiful"- her most favorite, and overused, phrase that she said to everyone in order for them to buy something from her.
Avoid this place at all costs! Everything is overpriced, and the only interest the owner has is to sell you a dress and to make as much profit from you as possible. She has no interest in her customers and their satisfaction. She is rude, pushy, and is very transparent in the fact that she doesn't care about anything but making money- the WRONG attitude for selling WEDDING dresses!
Pros: nice dresses
Cons: VERY poor management, customer service, and WAY overpriced!

I purchased my Pronovias dress from Village Bridal at their sample sale last summer. It was the perfect dress but several sizes too large . They were able to take in the dress to fit me perfectly while maintaining the integrity of the gown The sale price, plus the alterations, veil and shoes ended up being less than the original cost of the dress. Like many other reviewers have noted, the owners do not keep the manufacturer's tags on the dresses, and even after I bought the dress I still was not given the gown id number. After some extensive searching, I was able to find my gown online to compare the sale price I paid, which fortunately was less than anything I found online. However, I do think their non-sale prices are a little higher than you might find at other bridal shops for the same brand. The owner and employees were polite and professional, with one exception...when I went in for my last fitting, they had not finished the final alterations and failed to call me to tell me not to come in. Since I work close to VB it was not a huge inconvenience, but I still would have appreciated them calling so I would not have had to leave work early and waste a trip. Other than that, I really enjoyed my experience and am thrilled with my gown.
Pros: unique dress selection, great alterations
Cons: don't leave manufacturer tags on dresses

Let me start off by saying that I do not normally write reviews, but this place is so terrible that I want to warn everyone else before they get sucked in too deep.
I am graduating from High School this year, so it is absolutely necessary that I have the perfect dress. My friend ordered her dress from here, so I thought it was safe to look around. Of course I find the perfect dress and she took my measurements and said she would order it. We paid and the owner seemed just as excited that I had found something great. Everything looked like it was perfect!
Today, after waiting 5 months, I was told I could come try the dress on. I was soooo excited. Right off the bat, as soon as I walked in, she was rude. She ignored me and my mom, and we had to wait for a long time before she would let me try on the dress. First off I noticed something- the dress was supposed to be ivory- it was pretty much snow white though. I thought I could just live with it, and put the dress on.
It was a nightmare. The dress was about 4 sizes to big- even after she claimed she ordered it to fit my size (not kidding...it was a 10, or so the tag said). It was lumpy and looked really cheap (keep in mind we did spend $350 on the dress). I was extremely disatisfied and voiced that to her. She FLIPPED OUT. She told me (and i quote) "It is not the dress...it is you. No dress will look good on you, so you just have to live with it." She then went on to tell us that it was a beautiful dress and that I am a terrible person for not liking it. Then she told me I would need spanx to look good in any dress and to lose some weight ("See you, unlike me, have a waist, so you just have to deal with it"). I AM A SIZE 2 or 4.
She lectured us for about 20 minutes, and when I was finally allowed to change- the whole time I was gone, she lectured my mom telling her that she needs to lie to me and tell me that I look good so that Im "not as picky" with my dresses. She also told us that there's nothing she can do.. and she will have to alter it and enormous expense.
I left the store (in tears) and don't think I ever want to step foot in there again. My dad is going to pick up the dress this afternoon where I am taking it to my own alterationist who will have to basically remake the dress.
DO NOT GO HERE.
Pros: A lot of dresses!
Cons: Everything else.

I purchased my dress and veil from Village Bridal. I have read the other reviews, but I have to say, Elizabeth was nothing but helpful to me. I went in last fall and had no idea what style of dress I wanted. She let me choose everything I wanted to try and helped zip and unzip. She really knows dresses and what is best for each body shape. She is blunt about telling you, so if you can face the truth, you will be fine. The alterations were much more than what she quoted me and I know I overpaid, but I needed a place that I could trust to get the job done right. She was excellent. She is very picky about making sure it fit perfectly. I was very happy with my purchase! She even took a few hours to help my mother find a dress and believe me, it's not easy! She didn't find what she was looking for, but Elizabeth was helpful. I also searched for a bridesmaid dress and although I didn't find what I was looking for, Elizabeth was never rude about it. Although it's not a deep discount store, I would recommend at least taking a look. You never know where you will find that perfect dress. If all else, you will leave knowing what styles flatter you best!
Pros: She knows flattering styles, helpful, and a perfectionist.
Cons: Pricey - you can probably find it cheaper, I just don't know where.

I had read these terrible reviews, but being one of only a couple stores that carries Pronovias, I decided to go see what Village Bridal had to offer. I was with several of my bridesmaids and mom, when the owner greeted us. She seemed disappointed to find out the dress was for me (as I was dressed down and plus size) , and not only of my more glamorous, teeny girl friends. However, I think because of my "entourage" she knew she couldn't be completely rude. I will admit 100% she chose the perfect dress for me, and we all fell in love instantly. We cried, we hugged each other, we thanked her profusely. We were so emotionally involved we didn't even look at the tag or style number, just being told it was an older Pronovias- from 4 or 5 years ago. Also, this particular dress was WAY more expensive than any I had seen from the designer- but again- I was in love with it. I went home to look it up and send pictures out to my other friends, but despite her insisting it was a popular model, could not find ONE picture of it.
My friend and I went back the next day to see the dress, and armed with the requirements for tagging a dress as determined by the ftc.gov. I was praying her a simple "Oh, here's the style number and here is the tag", but the dress had NO tags- no designer identification- no style name- just a number and a price. When we asked the owner, she flew off the handle into a series of excuses, pulling out handwritten style numbers and insisting it wasn't protocol to have any catalogues. We got the heck out of there as fast as we could, with the style NUMBER she had written on the tag. After calling not only the White Room, but Pronovias headquarters, we affirmed what we already thought- Pronovias goes by style NAME, not number. She had been coding all the dresses to her own specifications, and after an extensive search, I still have NO idea what my dream dress REALLY is, and where I can find it. PLEASE file all your complaints to the ftc.gov and STAY AWAY!!!
Pros: The owner definitely knows her dresses- unfortunately she's the only one!
Cons: EVERYTHING. This business is illegitimate
