This is the place to go for any sort of custom jewelry work in Nashua. He is informative, priced fairly, and does excellent work. He worked with me on a complicated multi-piece order using existing materials that I had inherited, and the final result exceeded my expectations! He also has many non-custom jewelry pieces for sale in the store which are beautiful and unique.

My husband picked out my engagement ring with the help of very patient and polite sales people. They gave him all the knowledge he needed to make a solid decision on which ring he wanted to get.
He was so impressed that there was no question as to where we needed to go to get our wedding rings. We recommend all of our friends to go to Barmakians for all there jewlery purchases.
The only bad experience I had was when I dropped off my rings to be cleaned and have beads put on the insides to make it fit my finger. When I dropped ther rings off I was told it would be ready the next day by 5pm. I went back the next day and it wasnt ready. I ended up getting my ring back 3 days later.
PROS: Selection,Service and quality
CONS: turn around time

Scontsa's in Nashua... is it a jewelry store, is it a home decorating store, is it a Shabby Chic exclusive retailer, is it a florist (looks like one when you first walk in)... I don't know what came first, but I think the Jewelry did given the history of the owner. However, regardless of the two businesses merged together as one - which makes zero sense to me, it's still a nice shop. The Shabby Chic line is featured in the Home Decor store - I actually think 99.9% of the home decor IS Shabby Chic - but I'm not complaining because I love the west coast designer, Rachel Ashwell, and I dig the cool pastel tones, cabbage roses, and white washed furniture. What I don't dig about Scontsas is how jam packed it feels inside, how aloof the staff are, and how they offer little variety - in other words, if you aren't a pastel color kind of person, you don't have a choice but to leave. I think they are expensive, but then again, they have to be since the Shabby Chic line IS an expensive line brought to us by famous celeb-designer Rachel Ashwell. However, all the Chic in the world doesn't make Scontsas an enjoyable place to shop because there is no connection between the sales staff and the customer. Packed, Limited Selection of "other" lines, and zero caring customer service makes Scontsa's a 3 out of 5 on my list. If they just warmed up a little and offered other lines, I think this store would be top notch.

My husband bought me my beautiful engagement ring from Zale's. The diamond was gorgeous, but the type of setting (cathedral) did not hold up well...it cracked within 3 months! The staff was not helpful with any repairs. I did however return for a simpler wedding band, as we were trying to find the best price. The salesperson seemed to care more about making the big sale than what was right for me. The one she thought was perfect for me was just the opposite of the one I finally got.
PROS: Good selection, they have sales often, you can find one at the mall.
CONS: Not helpful with repairs

Scontsas at first glance, you know will be something special. Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic collection as well as Italian pottery-you are not in New Hampshire anymore. This shop is full and the eye can get dizzy with so many wonderful things to see. Elegant-the lighting is superb. WELL worth the trip. Highly Recommended. Pros: Everything looks so sparkly and special. A REAL boutique.Cons: I wish it were bigger. I didn't go into the jewelry side but I think if they had just home decor it would be perfect (for me!)
