Despite a dear friend of mine having bad luck with this studio, I decided to give them a shot. Bad idea.
This friend is modern and a bit picky, so I chalked up her experience to her demands. Apparently I should NOT have given them the benefit.
This was by FAR the worst portrait experience of my time.
What does it take to find a decent photographer these days? Although the prices were a bit high, I chalked that up to "experience" and overhead. I thought that the location, sample work, and consultation deserved the benefit.
NOT the case. Go find another studio to shoot your portraits, and according to my dear friend's experience- weddings as well.
All I wanted was a simple portrait of my family with our french bulldog (who's practically a member of the family) and it was a nightmare.
Our price "quote" was FAR from the actual price handed to us.
The portrait could have been better done from my husband's cell camera. (well perhaps not quite that bad- but close)
The prices of prints we were quoted did NOT match the prices we were forced to pay to get out actual prints.
All in all, i would feel more comfortable going to ANYONE Else for our portraits.
I can say that the final prints (despite the outrageous cost) did appear nice for the first few months.... but the corners started warping after just a few months of having them on the walls of our home. You decide, but my advise is--- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Pros: Nice studio location in Naperville
Cons: Lack of professionalism, Price, and delivery of product!

My son used this place for his wedding photos and they were absolutely beautiful. They might have been a little pricy but to us they were worth it. They did both black and white and color for the photos. The ones from the Morton Arboretum were awesome.

HORRIBLE! Very unprofessional studio, non-digital technology. Showed us a polaroid to see if we liked the pose, but when the actual pictures came in, the pose looked aweful. Then they wanted $350 for ONE 11X14, which looked terrible. We had 15 family members from 6 states for this photo and it was a horrific experience - althought they offered a gift certificate for another sitting - just about $6000 short of the airfare required...STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! JC Penny's beats the crap out of Kramer...
PROS: NONE
CONS: PRICE, QUALITY, TECHNOLOGY

I have some photography background and was very picky and selective about our wedding photographer. I wanted very specific shots as well as someone with a good eye to catch the perfect pictures. My biggest pet peeve is photographs with dumb backgrounds, like exit signs or outlets. That drives me crazy. A photographer should know enough to move people or pick a better location. Kramer met my expectations and then some. The church we were married in is difficult to shoot due to low lighting & no flas photography. However, our photos were stunning without cheesy effects to take away from the bad picture (which isnt always the case but I dont like them). They were costly but well worth the only remainder of our wedding we have. We got to keep our negatives too!
PROS: awesome photos, talented photographers
CONS: expensive but ive seen worse
