17th street is hands down the best bbq I've ever had. The meat is incredibly tender, moist, and tasty. They don't take reservations there and even once you are seated, the orders take a while to come up, but believe me, it is worth the wait. They don't have much atmosphere either, but people come here for the food.

Art of Hair is the best salons on current and up and coming styles, with wonderful colorists, great cuts and many talented stylists.
I have done my share of searching, within southern Illinois, for a salon offering all of the above and I have found Art of Hair to be simply *the best* in the southern part of this state. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed !!!

This place may look like a little hole-in-the-wall, but it is actually a great restaurant! Midland Inn is known for their bbq pork, which they smoke behind the restaurant.
Service has always been somewhat of a hit and miss here, but the food has never been terrible. Their coleslaw is some of the best I have ever had!

Wiffle Boys Pizza is fairly new, but they have pretty good pizza. Their prices are excellent, especially for a family on a budget.
The cheese bread is the best! Ask for extra sauce for dipping!
Cheese bread is popular with the kids, who may not like all the pizza toppings.
Super-nice staff and delivery persons.

I had a chance to visit Cindy B's in Murphysboro last month with some friends and was very impressed. The food was good (I had an Italian Beef sandwich) and reasonably priced, with very friendly waitresses. I have heard that they have good pies but have not had a chance to try them yet. Will try to do that soon.
