Just an ok place to stay. We booked at last minute and was forced to stay here and it actually ended up being and ok place. Not the cleanest and the nicest but the staff was great and it was a place to lay you head at the end of the day.

This is a nice farm market, open to the outside and lots of local produce. They serve up a HUGE ice cream so come with your appetite! The staff is primarily young adults so it is a fun place to go to. They open around tulip time and close in october.

We took our truck here to get the muffler repaired, and while we were pleased with the repair job, their customer service needs work. They could do a better job of dealing with the average layperson, rather than behaving as though the customer should know all about repairing cars. Also, they closed earlier than they advertise.

This clinic serves primarily low income/poverty level families. I've been there several times and I can't stand any of the receptionists. They are totally impersonal and there to make a paycheck, not care about the patients. The doctors there, however, more than make up for this downfall. I've had several visits with the doctors there and they are all fabulous and caring! The dentists are nice too, but I did have a problem with a tooth that was not fixed correctly because the dentist was in a hurry to get to lunch.(She should have kept that to herself) I had to go back and get the tooth fixed again so i never went back after that.

This place looks like an oldfashioned Ice Cream Parlor. Red and White lights surround the restuarant. Also the red and white decor really makes you feel as if you are in an old fashioned restaurant. There milk shakes are to die for, and they also serve a mean cup of coffee. There lunches are reasonably priced and there service is quick and friendly. You are taken care of in a prompt matter and the food is good too. I didn't have a chance to find out, but I would guess that this restaurant was one of the originals in Mt. Vernon. It is a very family friendly restaurant in both service and price. It is also a nice place just to drop by for a milkshake or Ice cream on a hot summers day.

Conway is in the heart of Skagit Valley farm country and the Conway pub is the heart of the town. It's a great blend of old time and modern. They have pool tables and shuffleboard, the best burgers around, and from time to time they have live music, including impromptu jazz jams. I was there one Sunday and a small group was playing, when this guy drove up on a pea viner - that's a huge piece of farm equipment - walked in with his saxophone, and joined in for a short set before heading off on his pea viner. Unbelievable.

The Lincoln Theater Center in Mount Vernon, WA was built in 1927. It closed as a commercial theater sometime in the early 70's, but was brought back to life by a group of civic minded theater, history, and architecture buffs. Over a period of many years, it has been lovingly restored, and now is one of the finest venues in the area, showing art-house and independent movies, often also featuring concerts on the (also lovingly restored) "Mighty Wurlitzer" organ. The crowds attracted to the Lincoln are the type who turn off their cell phones, don't carry on conversations throughout the movie, and stand and applaud at the end of many movies. The concession stand is manned by volunteers and features popcorn with real butter! Prices are a bargain, and members get a discount! The theater also is a prime venue for local live theater productions.

These folks have, in a small area, quite a good selection of plants, ornamentals, fruit trees, etc. They also have bulk supplies of bark, topsoil, and other landscaping supplies. The service is friendly and the prices are good.The only drawback is that it can be hard to get out of the parking lot if the traffic is heavy.

This little store in downtown Mount Vernon is fun. The owners and staff obviously love kids and toys. Large areas of the store are turned over to elaborate toy setups. Kids are encouraged to play with the toys., and as a result the place is often packed. I hope sales reflect positively on their retail philosophy. Toys and books for all ages.
