Umi Teriyaki is right near my friend's house, and I always stop by when I visit him. My favorites are the orange chicken and the general tsao's chicken. I like the serving size for the price, and the service is always good.

Northwest Fine Furnishings has some gorgeous furniture. It's a good place to check out if you want to get away from the particle-board, assembly-required pieces that you'll find at an IKEA or Target. They have both very simple pieces, like basic wooden bookshelves, and fancier pieces incorporating glass, metal, fabric, etc. However, if you have a small budget, you may want to stay away, as EVERYTHING is very expensive.

Teriyaki House has everything, hot tea, tasty food, and a nice selection of sushi and sashimi. I love their spicy tuna roll and tako. The price was reasonable, and my food was very good.

This is a nice place to stop and get your feed for the wild birds that flock to your field. We have canadian geese that visit each year and we like to give them a treat so we visited here tos ee what we could give them. The staff was knowledgable and friendly.

I was very happy with my room. It was beautifully decorated with art work, had granite counter topped wet bar, microwave and fridge and looked brand new! Spacious too! Housekeeping and front desk staff were very freindly and informative.
Pros: reasonable rates, great restaurant, comfortable rooms

If you live in Skagit County, your choices for shopping for camping and outdoor equipment are, unfortunately, very limited. Unless you want to drive up to REI in Bellingham, Northern Sales is basically it. But that's not such a bad thing. I have heard some negative comments about the service at Northern Sales, but I have never had a problem, and they have a pretty good selection. It's worth stopping in before making the long drive elsewhere!
