This place looks like an oldfashioned Ice Cream Parlor. Red and White lights surround the restuarant. Also the red and white decor really makes you feel as if you are in an old fashioned restaurant. There milk shakes are to die for, and they also serve a mean cup of coffee. There lunches are reasonably priced and there service is quick and friendly. You are taken care of in a prompt matter and the food is good too. I didn't have a chance to find out, but I would guess that this restaurant was one of the originals in Mt. Vernon. It is a very family friendly restaurant in both service and price. It is also a nice place just to drop by for a milkshake or Ice cream on a hot summers day

I enjoy big scoop because its a little mom and pop shop. The servers are friendly and go out of their way to get you what you want. The only problem I have with this restuarant is that I can never decide what dessert I want when it comes that time :)
