I was so impressed when I visited this boutique! Exceptional customer service and quality product! The ambiance of the boutique is fun! It is not like any other uniform shop! Great selection of uniforms and shoes and accessories! Very impressed on how it is merchandised and displayed! If they did not have what I was looking for it was special ordered for me! The lady who operates the place makes it fun to buy scrubs! I suggest everyone goes and checks out this shop so much nicer to try it on and buy rather than going online! Go and enjoy the expierance I had!!!!

I love Scott's Bookstore!! They have quite a large selection of books for smaller town bookstore. And I love the Calico Cupboard (a restaurant connected with the bookstore). You can look for books while you wait for a seat!

We chose Handy's Heating to do the annual service on our furnace, and will call them again next year. They were very friendly and courteous, both on the phone and in person. The man they sent to check our furnace was very helpful--in addition to the routine service, he showed me how to change the filters and checked on something that we were concerned about with one of our vents in the house. Handy's offers a discount on any service or repairs needed on your furnace when you choose them for your yearly service.

One does tend to get ignored at My Favorite Things. However, they do have a cool mix of classy gifts, including clothing, jewelry, stationary, picture frames, wall art, books, etc. Some of the prices are a little high, especially on jewelry, but if you're looking for a unique gift, My Favorite Things is worth checking out.

Northwest Fine Furnishings has some gorgeous furniture. It's a good place to check out if you want to get away from the particle-board, assembly-required pieces that you'll find at an IKEA or Target. They have both very simple pieces, like basic wooden bookshelves, and fancier pieces incorporating glass, metal, fabric, etc. However, if you have a small budget, you may want to stay away, as EVERYTHING is very expensive.

If you live in Skagit County, your choices for shopping for camping and outdoor equipment are, unfortunately, very limited. Unless you want to drive up to REI in Bellingham, Northern Sales is basically it. But that's not such a bad thing. I have heard some negative comments about the service at Northern Sales, but I have never had a problem, and they have a pretty good selection. It's worth stopping in before making the long drive elsewhere!

This little store in downtown Mount Vernon is fun. The owners and staff obviously love kids and toys. Large areas of the store are turned over to elaborate toy setups. Kids are encouraged to play with the toys., and as a result the place is often packed. I hope sales reflect positively on their retail philosophy. Toys and books for all ages.
