Cat Heaven! (My wallet likes it too!) 2/27/2011

I tried out Dr. Stroman at Lowcountry Cat Practice because of her nice website. But the experiences I have had there over the years have surpassed expectations. She grooms my persian herself (no passing it off to an assistant) Very hands on and available (on the phone, on the weekend, comes up front to speak, remembers me and my pet instantly). Appointments are seen promptly. Never been a surprise about costs because she discusses everything and really helps you get the most for whatever you pay. more

Responsive Care for my cats 2/21/2011

I have been using Low Country Cat Practice for my 3 cats for over 5 years. The complete range of services of LCCP has meant that I get all of my cat needs from evaluation of my kitten to periodic shots to grooming to sensitive care when my cats are sick. Dr. Stroman meets me personally and takes time to review my cats medical issues. The boarding facilities have been a great resource as I am subject to being called out of town on an irregular basis. more

Your dollar really stretches here! 6/27/2010

Your dollar really stretches here! I took my cat to Lowcountry Cat Practice recently and was impressed! The time that she spent with me and my cat was amazing. So thorough and detailed, and she focused a lot on screening and prevention and made tons of suggestions that cost me nothing but made a huge difference in my senior cat's life! The attention to detail was amazing since most vets spend all of 10 minutes with you in an exam room! My last vet was a ""dog doc"" and it showed! This lady not only knows all about cats, she went the extra mile to apply that knowledge to my cat! Can't beat it! more

We love this place!!! 5/6/2010

Our 3-year-old ragdoll, Muffin, loves Lowcountry Cat Practice as much as my wife and I do. We both have busy schedules and as such we appreciate a practice that does not overbook and force patients to wait. The doctor and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They do a fantastic job of making each visit very comfortable and personal. They are upfront about possible charges and discuss options to fit both our budget and Muffin's needs. Dr. Stroman is always available by phone if we a question or concern about Muffin. If you want the best for your animal then look no further than Lowcountry Cat Practice.? Pros: Caring. Early morning drop offs. Great boarding & grooming more

Great caring vet 4/29/2010

I dropped my cat Pita off for a groom in January of this year and I remember the person referenced in the previous review. He was dressed in scrubs and identified himself as a dentist (periodontist) in this area. I came back to pick up my cat later that afternoon when Dr. Stroman was discharging this patient. It was memorable because I have been a dental hygenist for many years and I recalled being impressed with the time Dr. Stroman spent showing this man the dental lesion on his cat - she even had a dental model that she used to illustrate points. Being a dental professional, I have had bosses, human dentists, that would not have taken that level of time with a patient. I will say that because we do a lot of pediatrics in the dental practice that I work in that we often get caught between the parent that brings a child in and the other parent who calls later over the phone to complain and second guess the decisions (and related costs) that were made in the office by the other parent. Dr. Stroman is NOT expensive, I have used two other vets here in Mount Pleasant that were affiliated with each other for many years and I can tell you that Dr. Stroman's prices are very reasonable particularly in light of the amount of time and expertise that you get with them. She is the ONLY vet I have ever found who really comes to the phone, returns your calls, comes up front to speak to you. Rare these days! I have saved the hassle and expense of at least three visits with my cat just because Dr. Stroman was willing to come to the phone to ""talk me through"" the issues and save me the hassle of schlepping the cat in unnecessarily. It sounds like she's second guessing her husband's decision on treatments he authorized. I don't see how that is the fault of the vet. I wonder if the guy, being a periodontist, would examine a patient, provide a consultation and render a professional opinion without expecting to be compensated for HIS hard work? Pros: just cats, caring staff, good prices more

save yourself the feeling of spending more than you should 1/21/2010

We brought in a stray we had adopted from the streets and when we reviewed the costs of bringing the cat up to speed with vaccinations, etc. we willingly paid the nearly $300 for exam and vaccinations. We were told a repeat on two of the vaccinations were needed in 3-4 weeks. The cat was dropped off by my husband who was unaware of the previous quote on what she would need and signed the consent for treatment that was more than double what was anticipated. We paid our bill, but felt it unethical to charge a second FULL exam charge of $75 and a dewormer charge (which had not been mentioned that would be needed when we first brought the cat in). There was miscommunication with my husband and I - and as I said, we paid our bill - but I recommend you take your business somewhere else - not every practice will charge you the second $75 exam charge. more
