This place has it all! There food and the service were great! If I have those 2 things, then my night is set! They have a big selection (vegetarian, too) and everything I've tried has been fantastic. My favorites are the Papaya Salad (Som Tum), Shrimp Pad Thai, Chicken or Duck Panang Curry, and my new favorite, Honey Pork. The service is fantastic. Their attentive and friendly EVERY time. If you like spicy food, you can vary the heat with a 1-5 heat system. Also try the pickled jalapenos (not thai chiles) in the little pepper rack with your meal. You have to ask for it and it goes along great with your meal. Adds even another layer of flavor. They're not open all day, so make sure you check the dining hours. They also have outside tables if it's one of those sunny days.
Pros: Good Food, Good Service

My boyfriend and I go to this restaurant whenever we want Thai. He orders either the cashew chicken or the mango chicken, I order the pad thai, and the food is always fantastic. I completely disagree with the person who wrote that this restaurant is vastly overrated. My best friend is Thai-American, and she says that this food is very good and quite authentic. I would give the restaurant five stars except that sometimes the service is slow.

I was looking for some Thai food the other day, and if you have ever been down Castro Street in Downtown Mountain View, then you have come to right spot! There are ample ethnic restaurants at your fingertips from a variety of cuisines. Bangkok Spoon happens to be one of those restaurants that I will gladly return to. I initially went during the lunch hour and it was actually quite busy--but not to the point where you could not find seating or that it was too noisy. I approached the counter area and told the server that I was looking to place an order for take-out, and if she had any recommendations. She then asked if I had a preference of spicy or sweet. This assisted with my ordering since I do not eat Thai food regularly. The service was efficient and I received my food very promptly. The server even recommended I try the Thai iced tea which was superb. Overall, the service was helpful, the food was very fresh and prepared well--tasty and not over powered by the sauce it was bathed in! I would definitely come back again for a more traditional sit-down style dinner, as the ambience seemed pleasant and welcoming.

When we moved from Berkeley, we tried a bunch of Thai places and were sorely disappointed. Everything tasted like it came from a package, and even the jasmine rice was all wrong. Then Krung Thai opened near us and we rejoiced. Their menu is chock-full of winners: Tom Kha soup, yummy springrolls, teriffic curries (Rama tofu is my favorite) and really good Pad Thai. Some of the beef dishes are not so great--one exception is the Beef Mussaman, which is sweet and peanutty and really yummy!
