La Bamba is without a doubt one of the best burritos you can find in the Bay Area. This hole-in-the-wall may not look like much from the outside, but the delicious food and fast service more than make up for appearances. If you go during the lunch or dinner rush, be prepared to wait in lines out the door, but they've got this stuff down to a science - don't expect to wait more than 5-10 minutes to get your food. They serve a wide variety of meats (just about everything but cabesa), and their carnitas is perfect - crunchy on the outside yet soft and tender on the inside, just like it should be. If I could find one fault it would be that their guacamole is a little runny, but the overall flavor of the burrito speaks for itself. Do yourself a favor and give La Bamba a try - you won't regret it.

Taqueria La Bamba is located nextdoor to the better known La Costena but I think Taqueria La Bamba wins hands down. The place looks live a complete dive from the outsiden inside you will find a somewhat clean little restaurant with a few table and a counter to order at. You place your order then wait for your number to be called. While you wait you can watch the food being made. At lunch time you'll find a mix of engineers and suits. Dinner time is a little more sketchy.

I have been to a fair amount of taqueria joints in the south bay and none seem to compare to this one. The prices have been increasing ever since people started hearing about it by word of mouth, but are very moderate. It has been voted the best burrito joint in the City of Mountain View several years in a row. I highly recommend the quesadilla suiza ($5.25). The carne asada is seasoned to perfection. While the ambience isn't the cleanest, a majority of people take out as the service is rather quick. Parking is very limited around the front of the complex but additional parking is offered in the back. Definitely a good work lunch place for takeout!
