This is a small bike shop that seems to always have a bike sale going on. They are really attentive to your needs, but if you don't know anything about how to buy a bike, I suggest you keep asking question after question. Their prices on bikes are really good and they come with a year of maintanence. Or was it a month? I don't quite remember. It seemed like a pretty good deal.

I really like going to Sling It. The staff is always helpful, nice and knows their products. I've ordered special items, and they are in when they say, and they always call to follow up.
Having boys new to the sport, I wouldn't take my business any where else.

Two brother's own this shop, both love skiing and are very knowledgeable and very nice people. (They have a couple avid boarders tha work there as well) When my girlfriend couldn't come in for fitting they gave me 2 pair of boots to make sure they fit, and they did great edge work and wax on the board i own. They keep records of all sizes, so a phone call is all you need and your stuff is ready. All my friends rent here.
Regarding critical posts from this guy "olggie", they are not closed, they moved and are now near REI. It is a lot cheaper to rent here than on the mountain, plus you won't waste time at the hill, and you get "real" equipment instead of the garbage resorts rent.

I've been to most public courses in the area and its usually the same story. Yellowish rough, unmaintained greens, divot-stricken fairways, etc. When I came to Shoreline, I really thought I was playing at a private country club. The course was so beautifully maintained. The course itself poses some challenging holes and some well architected doglegs that might even give 0-5 handicap golfers a bit of trouble. I played in the morning at 7am and most golfing packs were moving at a good pace so I was able to finish under 2 hours before work. The rate is a bargain for 9 holes if you're a Mountain View resident at $18 while $25 for non residents. Hopefully all golfers who visit this course keep it beautiful because I know I definitely will make this a weekday favorite.

Shoreline Aquatic Center has many amenities and activities for your enjoyment such as a kids’ play structure, a kite flying area, a dog run right outside the park and also picnic area. Nice place to go around in groups. It also has windsurfing, pedal boats, kayaks. I love going there again and again.

They don't just sell used athletic goods. I was in there trading in kids soccer and baseball shoes (they pay about $4 to $5 per pair--but check for current pricing) and found out that they sell new shoes as well--and my son was now in a size 13--a fairly hard to find size. While the selection was limited, the shoes were top brand and reasonably priced. If you have little kids--try this store first for shoes--they will outgrow the shoes WAY before they wear them out!

Something took a chunck out of my rear tire on my ride home from work on Friday. Since I had to get a new tire and tube, I figured I'd also bring my bike into the shop and see if they could figure out the chain slippage/maybe switching gears on its own problem. I had once brought it back to the place I bought it, and they couldn't fix it; I also left it with someone I used to work with who said they could fix it - nope. I figured I maybe just had an expensive lemon and rode it. Swearing at it on occasion.
It is fixed. Only ~$50 bucks in parts and labor (not including the tire/tube, of course), and she rides like a dream!!! I can't tell you you thrilled I am.
The folks at The Off Ramp have my loyal business!
Pros: Excellent customer service and bike shop.
Cons: None.

Mt. View Surplus is a great store to buy everything you need for camping, backpacking or for your emergency preparedness kits. They also sell amy type clothing, which is good for costumes. The staff is not terribly helpful.
