this pizza is pretty good according to lots and lots of people but for me it's not really the style of pizza I like. I've only gotten take out from here but when I did stop by the place was totally packed and I couldn't imagine waiting for a seat! I did also get a brownie to go and I didn't really like it, and I love anything with chocolate.

we used to live up in Redwood City and the Amici's up there became our favorite resturant, however, the one in Mountain View doesn't seem to be as good. we love a New York style pie, they have a nice think crust, but for some reason their pizza's seem dry lately, we like more grease.

so because of the name I decided to try this pizza. I should've known when we called that the people on the other end of the phone did not have a New York accent. this pizza was anything but New York style, it's not that it was bad pizza, but I just don't like it when people put in thier name "New York" if that's totally not what it is!!!

Round Table Pizza is decent enough, it tastes the same everywhere and you can always find a coupon. The thing that makes the Grant Road location stand out is the great play area they have for kids. It is clean, well stocked, and situated in an area that makes it difficult for little Houdinis to escape. The play area has several small tables with toys bolted down and a train table with the tracks bolted down. Toddlers can have lots of fun without "wrecking" the set-up. I take my son there once a week to meet friends for lunch, Round Table runs several lunch specials and they always serve the pizza very quickly. Plus the people who work there are very nice!

Tony & Alba's is located in a little strip mall off of El Camino. Don't let the odd location deter you, they have excellent pizza with a crispy wheat crust. Our favorite is Tony's Special, a combo pizza with lots of meat toppings. If you go at lunchtime you can get the lunch special for around $6, it includes 2 slices of pizza and a wonderful salad with homemade Italian dressing, roasted red peppers and feta cheese. A great deal!

More
The Mazeh Restaurant says Mazeh Cafe on the outside, but it's really a restaurant, the one that has the white cloth (although covered by paper). Two owners, a husband and a wife, greet you, guide you through the menu and generally provide a great service. The restaurant has about a dozen tables, so it's a pretty small space, but it does get crowded closer to the evening, and from the interaction you could tell those were regular customers.
Parking is plentiful, since it shares the strip mall parking with Cost Plus World Market. The restaurant is clean, well kept and one of the walls is painted with a view of San Francisco.
The menu http://www.cafemazeh.com/ features a pretty wide selection of Mediterranean dishes, and healthy helpings of appetizers, as well as fusion-style pizzas with Persian and Mediterranean toppings. Lamb Chuala, which I tried, was presented on a sizzling skillet, like fajitas in Mexican places, with tender lamb, bell peppers and plenty of onions adding to the spicy mix.
While you're at it, try Turkish coffee. If you haven't tried it before, it will be a good experience. It's a bit sweet, but provides a quick energy boost and plenty of concentrated caffeine in a small cup.
The prices are reasonable with most of the dinner entrees ranging between $9 and $15. The lunch menu is available as well. I didn't feel like trying a dessert, but Persian Ice Cream looks like something worth trying on the next visit.

Is Mario's a busy lunch place? Yes
Is Mario's a bit noisy at lunch? Yes
Is Mario's a bit hard to find? Yes
Do you sometimes have to wait at the door? Yes
All that said, Mario's is a family-run, casual, lively, friendly lunchtime experience. It's a great value for your buck and a yummy treat for your tummy. The staff is friendly and wanting to please you (they never say no).
My coworkers pre-order and have their food waiting when they arrive.
Today I had cheese tortellini with pancetta and peas in a delicious creamy sauce served steamy hot. Tomorrow I'm going to try the chicken parmigiana (I haven't had a good parmigiana since I left New York).
The simple complementary dessert is a nice end to the meal. Thanks Mario's - I feel like I'm at one of my favorite restaurants in my hometown in New York.
