We started using Calderon when we first moved to the neighborhood 5 years ago. My husband picked it because he noticed several cops take their shirts there and he saw that as a good sign :) The family than runs the place is extremely friendly and knows us by name. Prices are very reasonable and they've never lost an item of ours. They also offer minor altaerations, I've had them hem several pairs of pants for me.

I had a very good experience with Ron Daniels of Daniels Therapy. Services in Mountain View after I had a shoulder surgery.

The first few sessions were half an hour to 45 minutes because I could barely move my arm. As things progressed, I was able to do more exercises, etc., and some of the longer sessions were a couple hours. Once or twice I'd done something I shouldn't have, and the subsequent sessions were again very short. If I ever had a time constraint, I'd just let him know when I arrived and he did a great job respecting it.

I got this recommendation from my friend so this is not first hand experience. She goes to Le's alteration. It's on castro and el camino.
I think they charge $4 for hemming jeans and if u want to keep the 'worn' part of the jeans, they can reapply that for $14. pretty cool stuff.
