Los Altos Taqueria stands proudly with the best of them in the top burrito town in Silicon Valley. Contributor on

The Scene The owners of Los Altos Taqueria may not know their geography-the restaurant is located in Mountain View, not Los Altos-but they do know their Mexican food.
The Food Prices here are great and the sizes are even better. A regular burrito (meat, rice, beans and salsa) runs just $3.55 and is big enough to hurt your stomach-that is, if you can finish the beast. There's a huge selection of meat fillings, including carne asada, carnitas, chicken and lengua (beef tongue). The rice is fluffy and the flour-tortilla wraps are heated right on the grill. Beyond burritos, also try the super nachos (meat, refried beans, cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream and plenty of corn-tortilla chips), tortas (Mexican sandwiches), Mexican-style tacos, decadent quesadillas and tamales, which rank as some of the best that you will find in a restaurant.
