The independent book store is a rare find and Mountain View is lucky to have this gem downtown. Books Inc carries a nice selection of books in store and will happily special order anything that they don't usually carry. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help you find something. There is also a small cafe upstairs that serves coffee and baked treats.

This bookstore has a very professional yet relaxed and creative environment. It is so pleasant to browse their great book selection and read on one of their benches or even on the floor under the stairs! The upstairs cafe adds great ambience, providing a comfortingly bustling atmosphere. Every month the business has authors come to promote books and lead discussions, which are always interesting to attend. Along with books and magazines, Books Inc. provides a small but thorough stationary section with adorable cards and journals. They always have a large amount of sale items too!

I like Books Inc fine, but my favorite part of the store is actually the used book annex next door. They have a surprisingly large art & architecture collection (sort of my litmus test for a used book store). And the people behind the counter are fittingly gruff and knowledgeable--I always like a little guff with my used books, as if the sales staff is none too happy to see the book leave!
Great place to hang out for a coffee at anytime of the day or night. Open to 11pm every night. Always find lots of students studying there. The food is great too - light and healthy.

Two doors down from Book Buyers is Books, Inc. another independent bookstore. But this shop is more along the lines of the big chain stores, like Border’s and Barnes & Noble. It has its own café on a split level upstairs and it well-laid out and brightly lit, even though not a huge space. Attractive displays line the floor, and it’s a great place to browse for major sellers, and big publishers. B eprepared to pay big prieces to match!

Books Inc. is a nice-looking store on Castro St with a fair selection of books. It is, however, pretty expensive. I prefer Bookbuyers, which is near Books Inc. and is also on Castro St. If you don't find what you are looking for either in Book Buyers or Borders, you could try Books Inc., but that is a pretty unlikely situation. I like that this store is two stories and the people that work there are really nice and will help you find what you need!

Doesnt have a lot of stuff in it. Its pretty expensive. Lots of best sellers. Most people just browse and never buy anything, probably because of the prices. Very clean making it a pleasant environment. The staff was ok, not too great, but it was enough, they help you find what you need. Checkout was quick which is good when you're on the go.

For the size of the store, they have a decent selection, and are very free to share their opinions. They also have a nice shop for lunch or coffee upstairs, but if you're looking for a place like Barnes & Noble, this isn't it. Try just down the block at BookBuyers first, if they don’t have it, try here.
