This place is Fantastic for book-lovers! Service was helpful and not intrusive. Everything and more you could ask for from a used bookstore
I went to this store to check out a specific adult author and did not get past the children's books area . . . I could not resist the five books I chose and then I had no more money in my budget for books that day! Oops, gotta come back another day!
The calendars still there in March were a delightful surprise!

This is the best bookstore EVER. Book Geeks buy a plot here because this is where you want to die.
I love going here on a Friday mornings and lining up in front of the store with fellow book geeks with our boxes of books to trade in and then browse among the amazing selection (while we wait for our offer) of everything from console games, cookbooks, children's books, metaphysical, comic books, movies, music, EVERYTHING. I sit here drooling just thinking about it. And then as I check out, I gaze into the shelf with the signed Ansel Adams photography books and start dreaming of the day I can purchase one without guilt.
If you love books, music, games, or anything kinda eclectic, you may want to look for your treasures here. Oh, and one thing. If you see something you like, purchase it. I saw this book one time, and said I would pick it up next week, and it was never to be seen again. This store has really fast turnaround on some things.
So remember..... BUY THAT BOOK!

Bookbuyers is one of my favorite bookstores in Mountain View. This store has a great selection of books and calenders but isn't very pricey. The staff is helpful too. There is usually a short line there or no line at all. Most people that go there do not actually buy anything though, unless it is something small. The store itself is pretty clean and there are lots of bookshelves.

A great used book store on Castro Street that has a wonderful selection of used paperbacks., and a plethora of other items, including used videos, DVD’s, software, games, CD’s, and tapes. The location is large enough that one should be prepared to just browse – there are so many sections and corners that you could be in the store for hours. The store buys, sells, and trades books, and allows customers to setup accounts to retain store credit. All and all a wonderful book shop.

This is a nice book store in downtown Mountain View. It has a selection of books, but what I like most about the store are the calenders. You can usually find a nice, funny, or colorful calender there--basically one that strikes your fancy. The line is usually short and the staff is nice and helpful. Still, I prefer Borders. I recommend this store only if you are really desperate. Most people that visit the store just browse, few actually buy!

Although there is no way to look up what is in stock, most of the people working here have a good knowledge of whether or not something is in stock, most are willing to help locate it (other than point and tell you where to find it) and they have a good balance of old and "newer" / "popular" books. They do have categories of books in sections that are well defined. It's usually pretty easy to find what you are looking for, and if you just want to browse, they have everything set up to make that easier. Make sure to check their section of the "brand new" selections they haven't had a chance to put away.
