I eat at Joselito's whenever I'm in the area. Their service is excellent and so are the margarita's. The chips are always warm and their food is authentic, not like what you'd get at those chain restaurants. It is kid friendly and a comfortable atmosphere. They're located on Honolulu which has limited parking out front but there is ample parking in the back.

The food served at Joselito's has a great south-of-the-border taste! The staff is friendly and accommodating and the prices are very reasonable.
Special Note: If you are vegetarian, this is the restaurant for you because the cooks can convert a regular menu item to a delicious vegetarian entree.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

A first time Friday visit-- 12:45PM. Pretty dead for lunch hour. Plenty of tables. A waiter offered the buffet-- stated plenty of items to chose from. Made our selections-- very limited choices-- three chili rellenos, two cheese enchiladas, no vegetables, no fajitas, a soupy orange mixture, cold sopas, rice and beans. Whatever had been offered was completely gone. Got what we could.
No waiter came by for over ten minutes. Could not do much more than eat. Assumed the trays would be refilled. Waiter came by. Requested food because everything was gone. He agreed. Five minutes later? fifteen minutes after seating? the buffet was disassembled. I again asked the waiter where the food was, and why he would offer us an ending buffet? He offered to get me fajitas. Ten minutes later, he asked me if I was ready for fajitas? They never came. He brought four mini enchiladas and three chili rellenos. We had already eaten this, so basically our buffet consisted of nearly chili-less chili rellenos, mini cheese enchiladas, no red sauce, and plenty of beans and rice. A big first time customer disappointment.
Had we known it was a limited selection buffet, we would have chosen from the menu. The waiter should have known it was the end of a picked-clean buffet and not lied to us, because it was lie. There are no excuses. Proper customer service-- ?Sir, the buffet is nearly over. The selection is limited. Feel free to enjoy it, but you can also order from the menu.? This is good service-- smart business. I informed the owners about this issue, but received no response-- an indication of how this place operates. Luckily, there is another Mexican restaurant right around the corner.
Pros: Lots of seating.
Cons: Not proud of their food and service is awful?

Joselito;s a fine restaurant that caters for the Montrose residents, and the lucky enough to know the location, they have one more in Tujunga, and they are great with their service, drinks are great, one thing I think they can do better: Sell Tequila Oro!!! My favorite, only for those with a knowledge in the fine tequilas, however, many people are not using their head, and go without a reservation!!!! I can imagine their surprise, the place is always busy... great food, great service, and best of all, the customers ...
love it... Make a reservation!!! Don't be a pain, if you don't have a table on time.
Pros: great food, service is great too...
Cons: no tequila Oro!!!!

this restaurant is one of my favorite. They have 2 locations I go to the tujunga location weekly, but I go to Montrose one about once a month. I have never had a problem in over 10 years of going. Food is always devine & the customer service is that of an upscale restaurant. The manager is alway accomadating and walks around to ensure everyone is happy. You have to have the enchiladas suizas! I also love the cadillac margaritas, good & strong. I only need one of those babys.
Don't miss out on dining here, you won't be disapointed.
**I wanted to point out the review below mine is obsurd, apparently they should have made a reservation, you just can't get a new table so easy when ANY restaurant is busy. I can't stand to see a great restaurant get slammed for something so rediculous. They didn't even mention the food. Which is fabulous.
Pros: great area, great service, great food
Cons: none

This is the first time I have ever written any comments online about my dining experience. This is going to be a bit long so please bear with me. I visited Joselitos in Montrose for the first time last Friday after work with my husband and some friends. We did not have a reservation and apparently it is recommended when visiting this place (I did not know) so we had a small wait for the 6 of us to be seated. Not a problem, we all had a margarita while we waited. The margarita was decent, nothing to brag about. When we were finally seated they placed us at a booth that would normally seat 4 people comfortably, we were 6! They put a chair on the end of the booth for the 6th person and 5 of us squeezed in. We requested a larger table almost immediately after being seated and were told that there were a lot of reservations and it would be a VERY long time till we got a larger table. Basically, NO. The person sitting at the end of the table was bumped on the head a total of 5 times so we again, said please can we move. This time we got the manager (Cory), he said we are really busy and there are people who made reservations. We were told the appetizer was on the house. All of this said without a smile, without any sympathy to our situation, WITHOUT AN APOLOGY. As if we were inconveniencing him! Then, we get the waiter, he now asks us if we plan to stay because.. there are no other tables... like... we can just leave now. Again, we spoke with the mngr. This time, basically wanting some common courtesy. Mngr came over again, we said how the waiter was rude and how we haven?t even once heard, sorry, I understand, I am sure it is uncomfortable to be bumped on the head several times, anything. No, the mngr said, and I quote, ?what more do you want, I already said you didnt have to pay for your appetizer? (as if we can?t pay, that?s not the point) then he said ?I don?t have time for this, just leave?
HORRIBLE! WE WERE IN SHOCK!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
Pros: Nice area
Cons: Horrible Customer Service

I tried Joselitos for lunch, one thing I can say, it is a nice town. The food is not great. I did not have a margarita, which can only explain the great things said about this place. The wait staff seemed to have a "going though the motions" attitude. The food was okay at best. I have eaten at some truly great Mexican restaurants, and this is just not one of them.
Pros: Outdoor seating.
Cons: Mediocrity
