The cool thing about Hong Kong Super Market is that it has a bunch of little stores inside. Some cater to older generations and some cater to the youth. They have a anime store right beside a medicinal herb store. They also have a one hour photo center so you can drop it off and pick it up after your shopping. Although the supermarket is rather cleaner than some of the other Asian supermarkets, they have higher prices and less selection. They have about half the aisles of the other Asian supermarkets. So Hong Kong Super Market does have its ups and downs.

This supermarket has met some competition in the recent years, but it does offer the essentials needed in everyday Asian cooking. Like any good supermarket, it has a fresh meat and seafood counter, and a large produce section. You will find a variety of sauces and soy products which are popular in Asian cuisine, and snacks abound among the aisles. The little shops on the side of the store offer books, wine, and other novelties.

Good location, it is in the middle of the
business area of Monterey Park
Cons: The price is still a little bit high compare to
some Mexican and Vietnamese operated
markets
It is hard to find parkings during the

no, no, it's not in Hong Kong. It's in Monterey Park, located near the busiest intersection in town, Garvey/Garfield. It look much cleaner than other supermarket in the same area, but the prices are bit higher. It depends on the shopper, clean for higher prices or not as clean for a lower price. However they do offer some unique items that couldn't be found at other supermarket. For example, Want Want Senbei rice cracker, it's the best rice cracker and it's only 2 for $1. They also offer a wide range of selections on drinks, from energy to exotic, to herbal, you name it, as long as it's Asians' they might have it. Customer service is alright.

This branch of Hong Kong Supermarket is located in the heart of the new so-called "Chinatown" - Monterey Park. It provides excellent grocery shopping for the surrounding cities. The size is moderate compared to other branch of Hong Kong Supermarket. Parking is acceptable. You always can go for lunch or dinner in the nearby Hong Kong styled restaurant before going into this market.

If I recall correctly, this is one of the many franchises that's sparsely scattered around the Pacific states, mostly in Southern California though. This place is bigger than the other smaller stores here in Monterey Park - it's well-known for stocking many veggies, fruits, etc. Some of the more shop savvy locals tend to like to go to the smaller stores - slightly cheaper prices for fruits and general groceries at other prices. If there's a one-stop shopping center for all goods, though, go here - it sure would save time for some of the farther shopper.
