We stayed in December 2008. Originally for 1 night turned to 3 nights.
My girls loved the pool and I loved the hot tub.
Larry helped us check in and gave us maps and directions to see the butterflies migrating.
We used breakfast coupons for their restaurant was very good.
I met the manager Cindy and she gave us directions to laundry and grocery facilities and THE PARK. (Thank you Cindy It kept the energetic girls busy)
We used and loved the fridge in the room.I'm told they are adding microwaves soon. What a plus! Everything you need is in these rooms.
I was able to use the comp in the lobby and print without any problems. We do not live too far about 3 hours away and will stay many more times.
Pros: Clean, beach across the street, staff is wonderful, location
Cons: If I had to say it would be pool closing at 10 pm

This is such a nice little place, I want to go back again and again. I really loved the atmosphere and the staff was very warm and inviting. It has the charm of cannery row all over it! The rooms were great and walking distance to all the shops!

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Monterey recently and we stayed at the Monterey Hotel. We were very surprised at check-in to find out that our room had been upgraded to a fireplace suite. The room was gorgeous! The staff was very polite and helpful and made sure that everything was taken care of. The only downfall was that the hotel is an historic building and doesn't have an elevator.

We stayed at this Hilton while we were racing at Laguna Seca. We needed a large space to park our truck and motorcyles and this location worked best for us. The smaller three level hotel was easier for us to load and unload.

I really liked it here. The rooms were very nice and there's a few great restaurants near by. The negative things were that there wasn't AC available in the room just a heater and gas fireplace. That didn't make much sense to me. Also the swimming pool is right in front of the parking lot when you drive in so it's not private at all! They also said on the website that they were in walking distance from Canary Row and they weren't.
Pros: room quality, service, location
Cons: , no AC in room, far from attractions

We paid $45 for a Friday night in November 2005. That price was at least $20 less than other motels in the area for the same night. Fine to spend a night or 2 but not for a romantic getaway.

Cheap!
Really clean
Fridge in the room
Decent shower pressure
Ample hot water
Cable tv
Table + 2 chairs for eating in the room
Coffee maker in the room (we didn't use it)
Near Highway 1
Near Del Monte shopping center
Minus:
THIN walls
Able to clearly hear outside noise
Towels are quite thin and worn but appeared clean
Flat pillows (I brought my own since we were on a road trip)
Pros: clean, cheap, location
Cons: noisy, simple

We got a suite at for my family at this hotel. It was a little older but a comfortable hotel within walking distance to the wharf. We had a balcony also. I would stay here again.
