Gianni's Pizza is definitely the best in town. I've been here several times and always enjoy it. The restaurant has a great atmosphere for families but we usually call in our order ahead of time because it's busy pretty much every night of the week (with good reason!). Don't forget to try their gelato, too. It's a bit pricey, but a delicious treat.

Sauce so full of acid, it hurt. But, the price... that was a killer... who the heck ever heard of pizza costing over $20.00 for a pie..... well, I guess that's Monterey for you....

My husband and I had dinner at Giannis Pizza one night during our trip to Monterey. The pizza was good but the restuarant wasn't as clean as I would have expected. We were there about an hour before closing and I'm hoping that was the reason for not being clean, however the restroom was disgusting and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in severall days.

This is a well known and popular local pizza place, but I'm not sure why. Regular pizzas come out as thin crust - not my favorite. You have to stand in line to give your order but pay higher prices more typical of a pizzeria that would have someone to wait on you.

I was very unimpressed with the taste and quality of the pizza.I thaught the sauce was very sour, acidic,and not well seasoned.The dough was average and the pizza was ill prepared.I also tried the meatball sub which was average.It still lacked the taste and quality that I was looking for.There was not enough sauce or cheese on the sub. This is a poor imitation of NY style pizza!

Has a back room for larger groups 20-25 that can be reserved ahead of time, or on the spot when not packed, which it usually is Friday/Saturday evenings.
