The Cutting Center is a great hair place.
The cuts are very affordable, but the quality is superior. The owners are very very friendly and super competent and skilled. I had a great experience when I got my hair cut there. I would go back there anytime. For the same price we would pay at cost cutters or great clips, you get to support a local business and get a great quality hair-cut!

This place has it all! The mOnterey Sports center has something for everyone in the family. The state of the art cardiovascular and weight-lifting equipment is sure to please everyone, from a beginner to an accomplished athlete. They also offer a women's only work-out room, which is a big plus for women who enjoy working out in a smaller, less intimidating environment. The Monterey Sports Center offers a large variety of classes as well, such as aerobics, cycling, martial arts, etc. There are two swimming pools as well, one mainly for children, the other primarily for adults. They also have hours set aside for adult use only for the pools (usually during the afternoon during weekdays). The sun deck next to the pools is a great spot to get away to and is usually uncrowded. There is also a gym with basketball courts, a volley ball net and track. To make it even more convenient, they also have a snack bar with treats to help you stay active! The men's and womens locker rooms are always clean and attended too. For families, there is a separtate, indiviual family changing room, to make it easier. There is also a daycare available with convenient hours. Parking is very easy to come by here, and the admission price is very reasonable, with a discount given to Monterey city residents. Memberships are also available. This is a great place to get all your excersize done. There is always something to do here!

Not really new to the area, but new to Malibu! I had an event to attend out of town and wanted to get a little color to my pale skin. As I was driving down Del Monte, I saw their signage and went in. I would have never known from the outside how large this place was. There was hair stylist, nail people; the place was bustling with folks. I went to the counter and met Ian who was very nice and knowledgeable on the different tanning beds and lotions. He recommended since my event was so close to do the Malibu Cocktail which was a spray tan and matrex. I have never seen a tanning bed so big! Ian was accommodating and did my spray tan and told me to back the following day for the matrex. I normally would be against this since I thought it would turn me orange, but it didn't and I didn't even burn in the bed. Thanks Malibu. I will definitely be back for more services.

I visited the Body Suite spa on my vacation in Monterey (July 2008), the spa is a small quaint spa and the service is impeccable. I like to get massages when I vacation and I have had them all over the US. I had the 90 minute massage and my husband had a pedicure and a neck,head,scalp rub. We both thoroughly enjoyed our sessions. I would have to say that this was the BEST MASSAGE I've ever had, the therapist was great, she found all of my tense spots and was successful in alleviating the tension. My husband had actually stopped getting spa treatments because they were never satisfactory to him, but thankfully the Body Suite has restored his faith in spa treatments! He loved it and he swears the therapist has magical hands. If you are in the Monterey area, this spa is perfect, it's right off Cannery Row and it's less expensive than the spas in the hotels and it is much better.
Pros: great therapists that apply great massage techniques

I NEVER ever go to mall salons but my friend was going so I tagged along. I went in for pink and white and I saw a girl who looked friendly and non-pushy. this was the famous TAMMY! She did my pink and white SO carefully and made really sweet conversation. There was no pressure for extra charges and she took care of my nails like no other. I get comments every day about how nice they look and I go back to her every 2 weeks! She's great ... if you can get an appointment with her. (in my opinion) She's their best girl. The other staff give me the impression they've "worked the beat" a little too long. She's worth the wait so make an appointment with her. you won't be disappointed!
Pros: TAMMY!!!!

IF YOU WANT A HAIRCUT AND COLOR THEN YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GO TO MARY AT SCISSORS AND SUN.!!!!!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
