This store is small, quiet, and a bit pricey, but that is something you can expect when shopping in Monterey. Otherwise, this store has great charms, that will last and will not pinch your skin like other less quality ones will. They also have watches and other jewelry. Stop by and check out the charms if you have a charm bracelet and want to update it, there is not too many places that carry charms anymore since nobody really has zoppini watches and bracelets. They will also special order for you if you are local.

Monterey Bay Silver Co carries some very nice jewelry. Unfortunately, because of the high prices, I'm limited to window shopping (which is still a fun thing to do).

Totally overpriced and rude: I had my watch band shortened by 2 links and was charged $49.50 for the 5 minutes job. Showing my surprise, I was told "that I can come back to have the band re-sized for free if needed." In addition, the guy who helped me stayed on the phone to his Internet customers the whole time, making deals and discussing customers. Unacceptable!

If you are considering even stepping into a Zales, let alone spending your hard earned money there, please reconsider. This has got to be the worst place to by jewlery! Not only are the jewels studded with flaws and other impurities, the customer service there is the worst in the state, By far. (I'm actually talking about all Zales stores here, not just the Del Monte Center branch). I think thye require there employess to be rude and distasteful. I know this review sounds harsh, but I am not alone with my thoughts. I have met several people who are just as unhapppy with the quality of Zales jewlery and customer service, so I know it is not just me. I have heard so many horror stories, that there is no room to list them! Plus it seems like everytime I am in the store (only to pay my bill) I hear someone there with a problem. My own personal experience with them probably nearly tops the list. The diamond on my engagement ring fell out, so I took it in to get it fixed. It took over 6 weeks, until I finally went into the store to see what was taking so long. To make a long story short, my ring was marked unfixable, so they told me they would have to replace it. However, to do so, they told me they also needed the matching band (even though there was nothing immediately wrong with it). To my horror, they told me it would take 8 weeks for the replacement ring to come in. The problem with this was that my wedding was just days away! So I put up a huge fight and refused to turn in my wedding band. After a long argument with the stiff retail manager, and numerous people on the phone, I was able to keep my ring. Oh, and it ended up taking longer than 8 weeks to recieve my engagement band! Anyway I am really unahppy with Zales as a whole company. I could go on and on, but I will spare you. Please think before you buy!
PROS: none!
CONS: incompetant employees, overpriced for qu
