Where to start, the service was amazing. We threw my wife a surprise Birthday Party with Balloons and a cake with 30 candles and the staff was so awesome, thanks, my wife had a blast. The food was fantastic, the show was amazing, my 5 year old and 1 year old loved it and didnt complain once which is rare at a restaraunt. The sound system was great and the entire restaraunt looks awesome. I would definately recommend this place for a fun date, for a fun night out with a family with kids of all ages that want to get out and have fun, oh ya, did I mention the service was great. Thanks to all at Riptide Rockin' Sushi..... Danny Pros: EXCELLENT SERVICE, AMANDA AND ROY!!! Cons: I ATE TOO MUCH AND THE OTHER REVIEWS ON HERE ARE RIDICULOUS!

The food was amazing. I LOVE sushi and have some favorites that I get over and over. At Riptide, I was able to try new and very delicious combinations that I had never seen offered anywhere else. The "World Famous" Tornado Roll, Caliente Roll, Screamin' O' Roll and Explosion Roll are fantastic. The restaurant was very clean and well organized. The only complaint I have is they realy need to do something about the sound system - it is so bad. Pros: Amzing combinations not found anywhere else Cons: Music is loud and the sound system is not good

I had read the reviews before going to Riptide, and was hoping that the negative ones were a fluke. Unfortunately, they were not. The food was actually good, but the restaurant does not appear to be at all well run. We sat outside, and the inside was literally deserted. Our brunch/lunch came out at 4 different times, and some of the people in our party were finishing their food as some of the other members of our party were still waiting to receive their food. Our waiter was very nice, but nowhere to be seen during the staggered delivery of our food. He did come out as the last plates were delivered to ask us if the manager had come out out talk to us. He had not, and never did. We received our bill at full price, with the gratuity included (Party of 10). We were very disappointed with our dining experience, but even more so when we were told the manager was coming and he/she never came. Incidentally, we never asked for the manager, only commented that the food was coming out staggered. There were plenty of employees inside.. in fact, one was behind the bar on a laptop computer. Definitely a disappointing experience. Pros: food was good; a huge variety Cons: perhaps the variety of food is too overwhelming for their kitchen to run effectively

The service is outstanding and the food quality exceeds your expectations. Bring a party of 10 or just a date for 2 and you will see how 1 restaurant can cater to your specific needs. Located next to a movie theatre, Riptide is the perfect place to dine before a movie or night on the town.

My wife and I decided to try Riptide for her birthday. I made online reservations and filled in the box that lets you tell the Maitre D' of any special requests. I said that it was my wife's birthday. This was a total waste of time. We arrived early and sat at the bar to enjoy a drink before dinner. The base speaker was so loud that we could not carry on a conversation. Not really a deal breaker but needs to be corrected. We were seated with a nice family of four and the waiter took our drink orders and returned with our drinks a reasonable amount of time. After that the service was down hill, it was like once we got our drinks the waiter just disappeared for the rest of the night. He never came back to refill the "Endless soda refills" or to get refills for anything. Never came back to check on us at all. He completely forgot the soup portion of the meal for the entire table. Seriously how do you forget to bring an entire course. Then after every body was finished he brought the check for the other family but my wife and I sat there for 15 minutes before I stood up and got his attention so he could bring us our check. He never ask if we wanted dessert. Nothing was done for my wife's birthday and when I mentioned to him that he forgot the soup portion of the meal he thought that it was funny and his eyes were red and half closed. It was the most unprofessional service we have ever received. The food was really good but I would warn people that if they can't handle poor service then they better find another place to dine. Pros: Good food Cons: The worst waiter service I have ever experienced.

I LOVE this place!!! I live in San Diego and wish we had one closer. Riptide has given me by far the best sushi and dining experience! I recommend it to everyone. I love that they offer sushi and other food choices as well for those who don't eat sushi. The owners greet their customers and are really friendly. It's a great place for a party or big group of people. I also just recently went there for breakfast and ate some awesome peanut butter and chocolate chip pancakes! Yummy!!! Pros: service and food Cons: there isn't one in San Diego
