101 Blu is a small resturant in Calhoun Square. It's very hip and modern atmosphere makes me want to come back again and again, the food makes me want to go even more.
If you want a great tasting meal that could easily cost double what they could charge, go to 101 Blu. They have a special every day, first time I went it was 6 dollar pasta dishes, next it was 5 dollar personal pizzas. I have not been dissapointed by them after going back several times.
The resturant is mostly colored... you guessed it... Blue! The booths are tall and offer great privacy. It's a great place to take a date! The staff is very friendly and they really take care of you.
This is a great place to eat if you are just hungry or if you want to woo that special someone!

If you don't know by now there seems to be construction at Calhoun Sq. As me and my friend were taking a shortcut to get in the mall around 11pm we came across a quaint little loungy spot named Aura. We were on our way to the independent upstairs and all of a sudden we both looked at each other and started bobbing our heads. The DJ was playing some great old school 70's funk! I loved it! I felt like i was in a Tarantino movie. We pulled up to the bar and had 2 strong cocktails as we talked about our work week. Our server was a lovely lady named Vanessa! We proceeded to go to the independent but left soon afterwards, we liked the ambiance of Aura much better. When we got back the DJ was playing some cool 80's then some great classic hip-hop and funk. We had so much fun we went back the next night. To end the night the DJ played "rockin around the xmas tree"! It's so nice to go to a place to hear music and there is no stuck-up DJ into himself playing all night. So in closing check out Aura for it's un meat market feel, strong drinks, friendly waitstaff and fantastic DJ's on Fridays and Saturdays! I'm sold!
PS I was told they have great food as well, need to get there earlier next time!

Alright, I just reviewed the reviews for 112 Eatery and urge everyone out there to ignore the bad reviews. I've eaten at 112 for years and having just moved to Chicago a little less than a year ago am arriving in town soon and the first thing that I am going to do is take the train from the airport, rush to 112, and promptly order a glass of wine and some steak tartare.
Allow me to point out a couple of points to the disgruntled: 1) You cannot complain about the food, no way, no how. This is the place that chefs, cook, and servers eat when they get off their shifts. 2) Get over your suburban, entitled attitude that the server is their to entertain you. They are certainly not. They are there to quickly and efficiently serve you food and drink. 3) It is not, I repeat, not normal to expect something free on your birthday. 4) No you cannot get a reservation at 7. It clogs up that table for the restaurant because they could have seated it at 6 and again at 8 instead of having you roll in at 7, a perfectly normal dinner hour if your staying in.

If u want to try malaysia food in mn, you have to come to K wok. Try their curry laksa and char kuey tiaw...they are the best in town. I can't find any store that can cook malaysia food as authentic as this one. Furthermore, food r cheap and tasty!!! I strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

The 19 bar is a great place to have a pitcher of beer and just hang out with friends. No drama, no creepy people, just a fun place to drink, socialize and play darts or pool. The place does get a little crowded on the weekends but usually starts to clear out by 11pm-midnight. I highly recommend checking it out!
Pros: Cheap beer, darts, pool, no drama
Cons: not a lot of parking, sometimes a little crowded

Thank you for the most wonderful experience. My husband and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary with a show and dinner, and we were seated right at the window with a breathtaking view of Minneapolis - and amazing food and wonderful service. We ordered three appetizers and one main dish to share- all were delicate, superb, gorgeous in presentation. We ended the dinner with the die-for dessert of the spoon with the cherry chocolate cake, the restaurant's speciality. We both have traveled and enjoyed cuisines at many places - Tokyo, Paris, Singapore, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and we can say that this is a top-notch restaurant, that we can fully recommend to out of town guests. Also a wonderful place to spend a special evening. Thank you and we are proud to live in the Twin Cities!
Pros: World class Asian-Modern Fusion Cuisine, breathtaking view, ambience, service at the amazing Walker Art Center. Great Parking.
