I was introduced to Nails & Co. by my mother-in-law who goes there regularly. Ever since, I have been hooked. They pride themselves on being the "Nail Salon of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders."
The longest I have had to wait to get in is about 15 minutes or so. They will tell you how long the wait is and they do have chairs to sit in. If it is a longer time, you could always wander around to the other shops nearby and come back closer to the time.
They send out coupons with some of the other local businesses. I always take advantage of the coupon for the Manicure & Spa Pedicure for $34.99---regular price is $39.99 so it is a nice $5 savings. During the pedicure, you get to sit in a nice massaging chair which is relaxing in itself. The pedicure also includes a paraffin wax treatment. The manicure is also relaxing. They have many colors to choose from and most are OPI brand. I see many women in there going for acrylics and fills, which I have never done.
The supplies and tools always seems sterile. I have never heard of any incidents based on unsanitary conditions for this salon. The nail technicians are always friendly and happy to see you.
I would recommend this nail salon if you live in the area and are looking for a little pampering time without the high cost. And look out for those coupons!

This Barnes & noble is across from the Southdale mall, inside the galleria. This is a 2 levels Barnes & noble, with a multi media shop. I always visit every time I eat in the galleria. This is a very good size bookstore even for Barnes & noble, good books selections with the usual category. The Starbuck coffee is on the bottom level, oddly place next to the children section. This Barnes & noble is the only one in the area, so if you want to stop to read a magazine or coffee, this is your stop.

When I heard Chipotle was moving into the Twin Cities area I had my doubts... I am not a big Mexican fan and the only time I had a burrito it was the frozen kind and did not agree with me.
Now I don't know what I would do without Chipotle downtown.
Because of its made to order way .. I can get my favorite however I want it.
Currently it is 3 soft tacos with rice and chicken, mild salsa, sour cream, cheese and lettuce... with limes on the side to make the taste even milder... and an iced tea.
Now I could eat it everyday!
If you stop in for lunch, know that 11:30am to 1pm is a very busy time - especially in the summer. I like to go after the rush.
Yes, the place isn't always the cleanest and sometimes things have run out (though if you just ask they will bring more out).. but for quick and "downtown cheap" this is a great bet!

This is a fabulous little restaurant. They have great sandwiches, salads and desserts. They even serve liquor (beer etc) if you are interested in that as well. The space is kind of small but they still have plenty of seating. The décor in the restaurant is very fitting with the theme.

Because of the good food, fast-seating, and good service, we generally chose to skip the lines (attitude) and lack of tables at Broder’s and other 'popular' spots, to come here.:D

I like JP's Bar area - it reminds me of being in New York. I wish he would bring back his Sunday Brunch...but what he does still have is magnificent. The calamari is the best around. The perfect spot for dinner and drinks before or after a visit to the Jungle Theatre, nice parking option behind the restaurant. I typically go for the soup and yummy appetizers. JP's menu does not disappoint.

Concluding my fruitless search in the Twin Cities for a burrito that compares in quality with a California style burrito-I have given up and settled with Burrito Loco. While nowhere near as tasty as a West Coast concoction, at least they make an attempt to get the formula right.
Loco’s burritos are heavy (about 1 kilo), they are wrapped in tinfoil, they come with a free side of nacho chips and salsa, and they are carefully packed with a couple of napkins in a brown paper sandwich bag. As for ingredients, they contain fresh guacamole, sour, cream and lettuce, and meat that is grilled.
It is surprising how many other local restaurants fail at this simple tried and true method--coming up with bizarre, or even disgusting variations on this theme--the worst probably being a “Mexican” restaurant in Minneapolis that filed their burrito with the same pre-cut vegetables found in most frozen tv dinners.
Thankfully, I have never found frozen vegetables or “mystery meat” in any Burrito Loco Burrito. And to top it off, they even offer free delivery.

More
Minnesota is truly unique in the level of professional support for people working in the arts and a great example of this is the Screenwrtiers' Workshop, Minnesota Film Arts, and IFP. Few major cities have such a broad range of post-educational support services as these non-profit organizations provide.
The Screenwriters' Workshop provides screenwriters with a professional development model for advancement in their skills and artistic abilities. There is a step-in process that involves participation in script groups (meet with other writers on biweekly and month basis) to get feedback on the pages you are writing in your script; a monthly roundtable reading called Second Tuesday where your entire script is read by different readers playing your characters; to Script Night where your script is read by a professional cast of actors and actresses on the stage at the Illusion Theater before an audience. Additionally, your can write a scipt for possible selection in SWW workshop production program called Screenlabs.
Few other places in the country have a workshop program this intensive for screenwriters. Frank Daniel, the founding artistic director of Robert Redford's Sundance Institute said, "Screenlabs and the Screenwriters Workshop is better than the Sundance Institute because the support is sustained and ongoing."
This workshop is entirely volunteer run which has its advantages and disadvantages from the standpoint of arts organizational management. But after being in existence for more than 18-years and making a significant contribution to the careers of many artists the film industry, its purpose is undisputed and necessary.
