Ichiban Japanese Steak House is a very fun restaurant, located on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, MN. You sit at large group tables with sometimes several other couples/groups. A server prepares your meal right in front of you, using the freshest of veggies and meats. You are also given an appetizer. It's really fun to watch the servers prepare the food. Sometimes the flames burst high on the woks. This restaurant also has a "sushi" bar which revolves, so you can grab whatever sushi you like. The food here is excellent and the night will be an adventure!

Ichiban serves not only tasty, well-prepared food, but entertainment in the process. Your meal is prepared by a chef right in front of you. Depending on the size of your group, you may have a table to yourself, but you may be seated with another party of diners—while this may be uncomfortable for some who expect privacy, the social aspect of this type of dining can be very enjoyable. They have a deal on sushi, but I’d call the restaurant to check on which night. They have a special, dedicated sushi stream, where you pay for an hour, and pull up a chair next to the river, and the sushi floats by on little rafts. Very good sushi, and a fun way to dine. Highly recommended if you are looking for something different. It is on the more expensive side, but well worth it for a special evening.

When you visit Ichiban you are in for a show. All the cooking is done right in front of you. This place is a bit pricey though. The food is good. The chef puts on a show for your group. He does things from throwing and catching knives to throwing food into the customer's mouth. Sometimes the wait can be long if it is a busy night. But there is a bar you can wait at. Another thing I don't really like is sometimes you have to sit with people you don't know which can get uncomfortable.
