Famous Dave's is a barbeque restaurant. They have many locations in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Rochester, MN, and even Fargo, ND. Famous Dave's is decent barbecue. It's not 'Fantastic', but it's good, homey food. You will get full. It's a great place to bring family; everyone will find something to their liking. The location in Uptown, Minneapolis has a stage for live bands. They even offer swing dancing on some nights. This is the best location, because of the live music. Don't go here if you're looking for the best of the best barbeque, but the food here will fill you up.

The decor at the Uptown location is Chicago-urban-blues, complete with fake 'L' train pillars and blues bands on stage. While some of the suburban locations I've been to (like the Roseville 'fishing shack') have self-service with a walk-up counter, the larger Uptown store has table service and a bar. I love eating at Famous Dave's! The food is always great; it is never a disappointment! The wait staff are fast, friendly and efficient. I love the blues bands that they offer several nights a week--it really makes the atmosphere! The only thing to be aware of is that the blues band does not start until about 7:30 or 8:00 pm. You might have to stay a while of decide to go for dinner late. Also, once the band starts, there is a $5 cover to get in. It is still worth it!
